The Severyite - March 4, 1937......
O.D. Harvey, Bartlesville, Okla., has an announcement in this week's paper about his skating rink in Howard. According to Mr. Harvey, he also has the largest Kansas rink in Independence. At Howard he has all new equipment and promises an orderly crowd at all times. An additional feature is free instructions to lady skaters.
Anyone know where the skating rink was located in Howard?
I know that the building just north of Lannings Auto used to be a skating rink. I also believe that there was one on the east side of Wabash, but not sure where it was.
I LOVE to rollar skate... :D
Lets build one again!
Me, too. Me, too.
That would be something to see. Two middleaged women roller skating.
Mother, You are mean.

:'( :'(
Make that THREE middle-aged women! Skating is great fun! I haven't been on rollerskates in years, but it's just like riding a bicycle, right? Oh wait...I used to fall off my bike a lot. So.....would admission to the skating rink include the pillow you strap to your butt?
Teresa: Are those honest to goodness big tears?
No... I just wanted to make you feel bad ... :P
Although we actually ARE middle aged women.. but dang, I sure don't feel like it..
So yeah... maybe those are big tears...cause the truth sometimes hurts.. ;)

Isn't that just a frightening thought? Seeing your mother looking back at your from the mirror. Then when you get to sounding like your mother on the phone, look out. Middle age is definitely here and life has just smacked you in the face.
And, Mother, I don't mean that as a bad thing. Ha
I've been there. Had a ball.
I just hope I look as great as my mother when I am her age.
Lord but that woman has class!
My mama is beautiful...
Her hair is always done.. her make up is always on.. and she always has a smile and a nice thing to say to people..
Yep...
If I am half the woman my mother is.. I will have turned out mighty fine.
