Howard Courant
March 6, 1930
The City of Wichita has lately put on a drive against tramps, bums, loafers, and gentry with no visible means of support, especially if they have a police court record, and if we may believe the Wichita papers, a large number of undersirables have been run out of that city. They will naturally drift into surrounding towns, and everybody should look out for them. Lately quite a number of back-door beggars have visited Howard, asking for handouts, used clothes, etc., and it is reported that a few houses have been entered and articles stolen.
Folks should lock their doors when they leave their homes.
That sounds pretty trifle for today's society. There's much worse than that happening presently.
