Title: House Fire
Post by: Mom70x7 on December 30, 2015, 02:37:11 PM
One of the casualties of the no-electricity day was the house of Ryan and Rachel (nee Green) Harrod. It burned during the night. They were not at home, having left because of the electrical outage.

Any idea what caused the fire? I hope not candles or a space heater. Much damage?  That's hard on the firefighters too when the electricity is off. Christmas time fires are especially sad, aren't they?

It's assumed the fire started when the electricity came back on - the breaker box (or something like it) was overloaded. Fire smoldered for awhile before flaming. The family had left, packing an overnight bag, when the electricity went off and were spending the night with relatives.

Yes, it is sad. Young couple, sweet people.

The electricity came back on about 5:30 +/-, the fire trucks didn't go down until after midnight.
