Post by: W. Gray on October 30, 2015, 03:25:13 PM
What was the name of this newspaper?

In what year, what Kansas county, and what Kansas town did it begin publishing?

The newspaper became one of the greatest newspapers in the country and won a number of Pulitzer Prizes.

Volume I, Number 1, had a circulation of around 500 copies for the weekly.

About ten years later, the weekly became a daily evening publication, and then switched to being a morning newspaper.

Before going out of business, the circulation reached 32nd in the nation with 255,000 subscribers on a daily basis and 750,000 circulation on Sunday.

The newspaper lived for well over a century and although it moved a few times seeking larger quarters, it never wound up more than a few blocks from its original location.
