Elk County Forum

Good Morning it is a rainy morning in Texas. I am setting here at 5:00 AM having coffee with my favorite girl, waiting on my Son-in-law to come and work on my Computer. My son Sterling is coming down from Tulsa to stay  2-3 days and help me with some things around here. He is really a neat young man he comes pretty regular to check on his Mother. Today we are taking her back to Plano to the Back Surgeon to check out her previous Surgery.Myrna never complains she is always positive. Have a great day on the Forum, it sure is nice to read all of the posite topics and friendly Chit Chat. Wilma it is great to see you posting again. We just about have all of the New Drapes in, they are really nice, Myrna did a great job of picking them. They really make the house seem homier. We got our house in Bartlesville sold, I was worried about getting it sold as Phillips was laying people off, but it sold and I got just what I was asking for it. Have a great day.

I'm not sure I knew you had moved.

We moved to be closer to our grandaughters. Plus I have lost 13 brothers and sisters, I have one brother left and I need to get up and see him. He is recovering from Knee surgery.

Thanks, it has rained hard all night, with 100% chance of heavy rain today. Fortunately our new house is on High
Ground. Oh darn, I thought I was getting up at 5:00 and just realized it was 4:00 on the darn daylight savings time. Don't forget to set your clocks back.

Well we got another 3 1/2  inches of Rain last night and it is still Drizzeling light now. I don't know of any bad flooding but I am sure there is. My son Sterling is here , he drives down from Tulsa regularly to check on his Mom, and me. He is really a neat boy. As far as that goes all three of my kids are special. Everyone have a great day.

Hello is everybody sleeping on a rainy afternoon. We are  just enjoying family. They are making fun of me , I made a mistake thinking today was the change for Daylight savings time, Myrna won't let me forget it. Wishing all of you a fun weekend. Hope there will be some posters coming out.

Happy Halloween Dale, I am guessing there are some spooks around the lake. We are the only house in our block and we haven't had many Trick or Treaters.

The spooks and goblins stay at the lake, so we don't have any bother us.

Those spooks were terrible.  They said "Please" and "Thank You" and "Have a good day".  I don't know what this world is coming to.  Two of the youngsters just had to go down my ramp.

Good morning Frank and Mryna. We have no little ones now so I send candy to the town children I know via my granddaughter.

We are getting more Rain today, we have had 7 inches of Rain since this past Friday night.  We are ready for some Sunshine and Sunny dry weather.  Wishing the best yo all my friends back home in good old Elk County. I need to get up there to see my brother Bob. It would be nice just to be in Howard around  some of the people I have Known all my life. Howard and Elk county will always be special to me,  it is those people that shaped my life, I was born there and Raised there. The finest people in the world lived there when I was growin up, the people that shaped my live the 2nd most were the Garisons, the one that shaped it the most and the one I owe whatever level of success I achieved is my lifelong partner, Myrna. Could you perhaps tip Texas to the north and give us some of the runoff?  We had about an inch and a half, but not nearly enough.

It's so nice to see you posting again, Mr. Frank!!!  ;D ;D ;D  I am watching the price of gasoline creep back up again...Wonder if it will ever go below 2 bucks again?

Cat, here in Texas it is $1.90 to $2.00. The Saudis are saying they will push it lower if the U.S. Operators start back up Drilling full force again. The Saudis demand their market share and they are powerful enough and smart enough to get it. The Oil Operators I market Oil and Gas for are more than Happy with the current prices. They have all cut back, to not push the Price any lower. I see people saying the World is running out of  Oil and Natural Gas, obviously it will someday but not in the lifetime of any of the People living today. There is a lot more Ol and Natural Gas to be found, more important is that each year the gas mileage of all types of vehicles is improving substantially and we are developing different types of Fuel, Electric Cars, Hybrid Engines, Windpower and other sources. Also Solar is gaining all the time, I am always getting calls by bothersome people want to make my new house Solar, Houses to day have so much more and much better insulation. The old House I grew up in, in Howard Kansas  virtually had no insulation, and when we first moved into it we Heated with Coal it was a pain to keep it going and it was very polluting. We thought we were really uptown when we got a stove that used Natural Gas. Enough rambling by me, have a great day. F. The lowest we saw here in Newark was $1.93.9, including all our state taxes.It's creeping up again, but is still only about $2.03 or so some places.
Lower prices are great for us drivers,but it makes it hard for the state to calculate what they will have to spend on roads. Some much needed projects here are on hold because of lack of money.

Thanks Jane, I  didn't even know what he was babbling about I wasn't referring to him. What I was talking about is all of the good people that have moved away or stopped posting for whatever reason.

I have a theory that if you ignore it, it goes away.  Doesn't always happen.

Well We made it to the Hospial now the waiting begins.I hurt for my Son-in- Law, I have been there and it is no fun.lt looks like everything is going great. I have been thru this with my Myrna 3 times and the waiting seems like an eternity. When, I feel bad for me, I think of my poor Father, he went thru this 15 times, the big difference is all
15 times he was at home. Lavinia Rarick delivered most of us. Lavinia told me that Dr. Depew told my Dad, " Lester this has to be the  the last one, this Woman can not have anymore Babies".

What I think he really means is he can not control the forum.

And I doubt Teresa and Kjell ever even considered closing the forum down. It is just one of frawins of trying toprovide a threat of sorts. Because he can not control the thread. I openly posted in the Political Thread and other threads, if Teresa wants to block me from the forum, I would understand and not be upset with her.
This action is what I think they would perform before considering shytting down the Forum. Don't ya reckon. But Frawin keeps refering to the possibility past or present or future possibility of shutting down the forum. Go figure!

Frawin knows where this came from and that is his continual knocking other people on this forum in the political and other threads. Try reading this thread and learn quite a bit!

Frawin, I hope all goes well for your grandson in the hospital. I just brought my wife home from a week and a day in the hospital and her treatment is being completed here at home. I have to infuse her with a large dose of a very strong anti-biotic daily for 12 more days. She has a bacterial blood infection and they are pretty hard to clear up. 

Please do ignore me and politics in the Coffee Shop and stay on topic --- like Jane said.

Jane, whenever I think about you and Rex, I think way back, 58 years ago, Rex's Mother was my English teacher, and a good one. Also I remember Rex's dad and that Pet Coyote, it would set in the front seat of the car  and ride down the Road looking at everything and everybody.

     I have spoken to Teresa personally, and she is serious about the possibility of shutting down the forum, for those who doubt it.

     I like getting information about local government, Ross, but you need to quit getting personal and stop thinking you are being attacked. It takes two to tango. Just stick to what you do well in providing information about the goings on with the county. Pretty please.

     I see Bob is back to getting around more, Frank. Had Heath chauffeuring him around for a while. Saw him at the Moline turkey dinner and the other day at Mills Feed. He is a good man. Didn't know he was your brother. Or that you were that old  ;D. Grandma had 11 kids. Only one left now. We were in a room with another woman in labor when my first was born. She was all alone and having a tough time. That was not a pleasant experience.  :P

The baby is here and Mother and Baby are fine. She is alittle cuteie  but you know I think all Babies are cute.

Wilma the best thing I ever did in my life was Marry Myrna,she has been a super lifelong Partner. She is great Mother and Grandmother, and a super Cook. It is hard to beat you Farm girls when it comes to wives. I credit Myrna with the success I have had in life.

Bullwinkle, Bob and I are the last of what was 7 girls and 8 boys. My Daughter was the last Grandchild, she was my Parents 51st Grandchildren. Big families are great but there has been a lot of Heartake losing them. My Mother and Father were the hardest working 2 people I have ever know. This getting old sure ain't for sissies.

Frank, Rex says he remembers the restaurant your folks had. Also the donuts she made every morning. Rex just loved your folks. Your sister use to tell Rex he looked just like his dad Darrell.
