Waldo, a little History for you, or anyone else that wants to make a guess.what Manufaturing Business was in Howard starting in 1953.
Had something to do with horse trotting buggies?
It was Garison Pony Cart Manufacturing, they made over a 1000 of them. Earl had a big Herd of Ponies and we broke and sold lots of them, most of the time when we sold one we Sold Harness, Cart and sometimes a Saddle with it. Garisons took me in and treated me like a son. When I graduated from the 8 th grade I said that is it, I am quitting school, he said no you are not, you are going to finish High School if I have to go and set with you everyday. I finished High School, and said that is it I am thru. He said no you need more Education to do well in this world, he said you are going to College, so I lost that argument and went two years to Independence Junior College. Earl passed away the week I finished Junior College. I knew then my College was over. I worked on Drilling Rigs , bought and sold Cattle Farmed and anything else I could do. Then I did the best thing in my life, I married Myrna, we are going on 52 years of Marriage. After a year of Marriage we Moved to Pratt Kansas, we stayed there almost 3 Years, I told Myrna that I needed more Education, she said go for it, I went to Emporia State and I went Winter and Summer and finished in a year and a half. Phillips petroleum Company hired me out of College, that was the second best thing that happened to me. At Phillips I ended up in the Marine Oil Tanker Department, I Travelled to every Continent and Country in the World, they sent me to Nigeria, I was there 30 days and lost 35 pounds, when I got to Bartlesville, I said I quit, Nigeria is no place for a little white boy from Howard , Kansas. That is when they sent me to Midland Texas as Area Supply Director forcWest Texas, North Texas and New Mexico. That is enough about me, I have 3 really neat Children and 4 soon to be 5 Grandchildren. This is probably more than any of you wanted to hear, you can ignore it if you want.
Both Garrison and your bio are quite interesting.
Waldo, Garisons was the second best thing to happen to me in my life, the best thing was Marrying Myrna. She has been a great partner for almost 52 years. The Lord has truly blessed me, I am thankful.
