Title: Building Torn Down
Post by: W. Gray on July 04, 2015, 10:59:14 AM
Someone seems to have mentioned lately the building that had a wall held up by iron pipes that was torn down recently apparently in Moline after a thunderstorm.

Is this the stone building at 2nd and Main in Moline that most recently held J&J Cycles and before that the  Swinging Bridge cafe?

Thanks, a date set in stone on the top of that building indicated that it was built in 1909.

Waldo, the date was 1906. They did remove that stone to preserve it, but I don't know where it went.

Yes, you are correct.

Hopefully, it has landed in the museum a door or so behind the former location of the torn down building.

I think they sold it at the Crazy Days auction.
