Title: How We Win Through Homeschooling . . . .
Post by: redcliffsw on June 04, 2014, 05:01:25 AM

There's better schooling options in America than 'free government schooling".  Do you really need West Elk?

Adolph Hitler would be proud of you. Homeschooling will not work for many families. Education is the key to success for our young people and West Elk is doing a great job of it. As a Taxpayer in Elk County I am pleased with the current school administration.

Over the years, there have been a lot of discussion around here about home schooling.  Our next door neighbor home schools her two children. They seem to be doing okay.  The discussions we had were about children getting the social interaction with other children.  Our neighbor's children do play outside with the other children in the neighborhood, but I think, IMHO, there is a lot to be said for a school environment and the interaction with a larger group of other children.  And, again, IMHO, I think teachers are better trained to teach children what they need to learn.  On the other hand, home schooling provides more of a one-on-one type situation where that child gets all the attention of the person teaching.  Some local parents do form small groups of children in a home school environment, but without the benefits of a trained teacher.

To each his own, I guess.

It can all work. I know a number of home school families and for them it is great. But, they are very intellegent interesting people who have no hidden "anti" agenda. Many home school families get together for social time, which they do need .Every year they come see the fire house and take other trips together as well.  They also usually send their kids to summer camp, just as many other people do. It all depends on the dedication of the "teacher" and having the materials available (they are) to take a subject through a set sequence from  easier to harder order.
I have spoken my piece on this many times. As Larry says "to each his own." Some do a combination. Especialy with immature kids, home school may work for them for several years, and then the kids zip off to school when they are a bit more mature, are less distractable, better with self control and are more able to work on their own. Many emotionally hyper kids do much better in a home school setting...fewer inputs and distractions to knock them off track.

Tell us how Adolph Hitler would be proud of me.

Today, Hitler's country, Germany does not permit homeschooling.  He was a socialist much like your thinking - government support to business like your eager support of the mandatory use ethanol and windpower and we know that U S Federal government has forced the use of both ethanol and windpower.  Your preference of mandatory laws to make us comply with your thinking would have not been tolerated in early America.

Good luck in the USA finding some gasoline that's not mixed with ethanol.  We can thank tyrants for that.

Frawin you're supporting the Fed's like the many Germans were supporting their Nazi governmemt.

Red,  do you HAVE to make everything personal ? Have you ever tried stating your view and then stopping right there? What does being offensive get you?

Or is it alright for frawin to get personal? And being offensive ?

And Diane every time you use the word "I" don't you make it personal about you?

So Diane, what is your real point?

Diane, you and Frawin are certainly entitled to stand for your own views even though your views are socialist.  I'll stand for mine.

I didn't read, "Dear Red" did I? But that makes no difference, on an open forum does it?

Diane a little comprehension, anything posted publicly is open for comment from anyone. You do not yet control the internet or the forum. Thank God for that!

You can not have any one booted off until you own your very own forum. And then you could not boot me off, because, I would most likely not pay any attention to your forum and not even register on it. You don't own this forum do you? And therefore don't make the rules do you?

I am thankful to and for the good sensible people that provide this forum for all of us and that they don't have your attitude and lack of comprehension. I said that as politely as possible.

I hope you are having a great Sunday Diane.
It is a beautiful day here after the couple of glorious rain falls we have had recently.

Ross, I'm just pushing your buttons 'cause somebody should once in awhile. You tend to have rules just for you and a whole different set for others.

Rules, laws and common sense aren't always the same thing. It depends on what events set them in motion.

Good post Diane

Good post Diane at being evasive of the truth!  Rules of Common Sense in this case are not in any way tied to the law in this case. Rules of Common Sense dictates that you Diane do not own this forum and therefore cannot boot anyone off the forum.

You should be as thankful to the owners as I am, because they provide this media.

Comprehension and Common Sense    Diane,    Comprehension and Common Sense!

Just as everyone including you are entitled to an opinion and when opinions are expressed they can be challenged and defended. Sometimes this procedure can lead to interesting conversations. However I find that evasive and cornfusing answers lead no where.

Comprehension and Common Sense    Diane,    Comprehension and Common Sense!
