Please note that (as of yesterday) the federal website, healthcare.gov, does NOT list all these plans and understates the actual premiums! Of course, if you buy direct, you will not be eligible for premium subsidies.
Also, when figuring any potential subsidies, remember that ALL household income (including pensions & Social Security) are included to determine eligibility.... even if there is only one person (i.e. an under 65 spouse) needing insurance.
Speaking of the penalty for not having insurance by March 15, 2014... the minimum penalty is $95 OR 1% of income... whichever is GREATER.
