The first photo posted by Warph reminds me of Buddy Heaton, a rodeo clown, from Ulysses, Kansas, who rode Old Grunter in John F. Kennedy's January 20, 1961, inaugural parade.
Ulysses is in Grant County on US 160, with about 6,000 pop.
Heaton also appeared on the TV program Wagon Train riding Old Grunter.
Heaton died only a couple years ago in 2011.
