Title: Free Clinic?
Post by: farmgal67357 on June 08, 2013, 03:13:51 PM
Is there one in the area? I'm trying to cover us just in case the job thing doesn't work out. Thanks!

Elk County is covered by the clinic in Emporia - the Flint Hills Community Health Center, I think it's called. They have a sliding income scale for services: both medical and dental.

I didn't know that. Do you have to go to Emporia to go to the clinic? I don't ahve insurance either, so that kills me sometimes.

Yes. Every 3 months you have to verify your income (or lack thereof) by showing them your pay stubs. The first of the year they need your income tax information.

Also, if you use Graves Drug Store, in Emporia, for your meds, they offer the sliding scale as well.

My Jim got his dentures there. Very pleased with the price and service - super service.
