Iris Mae (Buffalow) Thorburn, 85, of El Dorado, Kansas, died April 3, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital. Iris was born in Howard, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Clarice (Smith) Buffalow.
The family moved to Page, Nebraska, where she grew up. In 1940 she returned to El Dorado. She was married to Raymond L. Thorburn on October 4, 1944. He preceded her in death in 2006. For several years she worked as a bookkeeper for Triangle Electric and retired in 2000. She was a wonderful homemaker and wife. She enjoyed having family dinners, holidays, camping, fishing, playing cards, and listening to old country music.
Surviving family include: one son, Jerry (Jody) Thorburn of El Dorado, Kansas; one half-brother; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Robert; one daughter, Carol; one sister; one brother; and one grandchild.
