Lets talk about important things like KU basketball. Some people may have thought a loss was coming. Glad they didn't give up.
That was a scary one, for sure................................
I got fed up and since I was sleeping through it anyway, went to bed.
I will take the credit for their win.
It seems when I don't watch that is when they win, and when I do then it is a bad game.
I am glad they won..........Hopefully next weekend will be a win, too.
well, boring their games aren't. Good thing I have dentures or my nails would all be bitten off. I do like close games, but these are just nerve-racking. So far they have been able to pull the rabbit out of the hat, so to speak, and win.
Time to get this up to date, especially since KU is playing North Carolina for the privilege of going to the Sweet Sixteen and possibly playing WSU for the championship. Yes, I said WSU. They beat Gonzaga, the no. 1 ranked team in the country tonight. Just might be the best basketball game that I have ever seen and it didn't even go into overtime. Of course, KU has to get past North Carolina. In case you don't already know, KU and N C play tomorrow. I don't know what time, but you can probably find out pretty easily.
KU will play North Caroline at 3:15pm on CBS.
Game is at 4:15.
The schedule in this morning's Wichita paper says 4:00 pm. But we do all agree that it is on CBS, channel 12 on KSTC cable.
Thanks for the correction Bullwnkle. you are correct. They usually give us EST and I was going off of that instead of checking it out.
Great game, at least the second half. Didn't really look like the North Carolina of old. I didn't much like seeing LaSalle win, they could be trouble for the Shocks.
We thought Gonzaga would be trouble, too, but look what happened. Kansas has two teams in the Sweet Sixteen. Is there another state that can say that?
Florida does - It has three: Miami, Florida, and Florida Gulf Coast.
Wilma, did you see the K-State game against LaSalle?
Florida Gulf Coast looked quite good as well. Hungry boys.
I didn't pay much attention to it. I just assumed that we would win and was surprised when we didn't. I did watch LaSalle's next game and didn't think they were so hot.
Well I wish we had a Dave Stallworth this time. Maybe we do, we'll see.
Toldja.
Wichita-72, LaSalle-58
on to the Elite Eight
Wichita plays Ohio State Saturday
The Shocks looked awesome.
Well, that wasn't supposed to happen. I am going to crawl into a hole and pull it in after me. Kansas lost and the world is coming to an end.
Withey was tired at end of first half, wasn't getting down the floor and was getting moved off his shots. Mcgrary took over the paint in second half. Still, had the game in the bag and blew it. Guess that gives my Shocks a little bragging rights, hope they play well tonight.
Your Shocks? I am the one that is flying the Shocker's flag today.
Our team won!!!! Shocks 70--Ohio 66, I think. So it is on to the Final Four for the Shocks.
Yes , MY Shocks. :o :o I think being an alumn, as well as my dad, gives me the right.
I loved the way all the commentators were tripping over their tongues when it was over. It was obvious they all were hoping Ohio State would pull it out. ;D ;D ;D
OK, let's count mine. Two daughters, a niece, three nephews that I know of, one great nephew and probably some other great nieces and nephews. I kind of lose track after awhile. Besides I offered to share, "Our team won".
And my flag is still flying.
I watched the press conference afterwards and was impressed with the fact that the boys were thinking of the two games still ahead of them.
I didn't say I wouldn't share. I didn't think I'd have to include the whole family though. How about all my brothers , sisters, several cousins ( one killed in the football plane crash ) , etc, etc. Who's counting? How about being able to watch games in Henry Levitt from the chair backs four rows up from the floor,( lettermen used to get their seats for free). Remember Kelly Pete, Dave Stallworth, Nate Bowman kicking butt, among many others and many more since. Saw most of the events that put those banners up and the players that wore the jerseys hanging in the Roundhouse.
Besides, I not the one who said the world was coming to an end when KU lost. I loved the Battle in New Orleans and still have the T-shirt with Wushock holding the Jayhawk by the throat.
Great bunch of kids on this team, with humility, something rare these days.
But------------------, do you have a Shocker key chain?
SDM has started a "SHOCKERS" thread. See you over there.
