Copper Wire Discovered.
After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year outside of New York City, New York scientists found traces of copper cable dating back 150 years. They came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago.
Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, a Los Angeles , California archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet somewhere just outside Oceanside. Shortly after, a story in the LA Times read:
"California archaeologists report a finding of 200 year old copper cable, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network fifty years earlier than the New Yorkers."
One week later, a local newspaper in Topeka, Ks. reported the following:
"After digging down about 30 feet deep in his pasture near the former town of Cave Springs, Bubba, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Bubba has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Kansas had already gone wireless".
Just makes a person proud to be from Kansas.
That has made my whole day. I was having a bad day and that made me laugh. LOL

Don't want to talk about copper wire right at the present time. Took a load of brass, copper and junk iron to sell this past week. Burned an old house I own, not long ago. Waded up a tub full of copper wire I salvaged from the ashes. That was going to be my beer money EXCEPT in Ks, starting Jan 1 you can not sell stripped or burned copper wire unless you are a licensed electrician. I was told the reason being is people needing drugs steal copper wire to finance their "fix". For example, if Mr Druggie needs $90 for his fix ,last year he would steal enough wire that when stripped would weigh 10Lb @ $3 per lb he would be in business. Now for wire with insulation bringing $1 per lb (for example ) Mr. Crack Head will have to steal 3 times the amount of wire to get his daily fix. Brilliant move Kansas lawmakers. Wonder who lobbied to get this law? The electricians union ?

Melt it down. They can't say squat about it if its not in wire form and you still get top dollar for pure copper ingots
