The county commission did their job well yesterday and re-aligned commissioner districts in Elk County.
Effective immediately, Elk Falls Twp was added to Dist 1 (Commissioner Ritz) and Union Center Twp was added to Dist 3 (Commissioner Libeau). Mrs Hendricks will continue to represent the townships of Howard & Paw Paw.
This brings the district populations much more in line as required by Kansas statute. The new numbers look like this:
District 1, Ritz: 941
District 2, Hendricks: 977
District 3, Liebau: 944
