Annette Reid DeFever, Independence, died November 14.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years A. French DeFever of 1996 and by her parents, Margaret and Frank Reid and brother Richard Reid. She is survived by her five children, Larry (Caren Smith) of Houston, Nancy Komenda (Jeffrey) of Centerville, MA, Stephen of Independence, Diane Klingman (Richard) of Wichita and Susan Sullivan (Wayne) of Naples, FL. and her brother Lewis Reid (Gladys) of Salina. She had 12 grandchildren: Nicole, Drew, Reid and Ryan DeFever; Ted Komenda, Rosemary Sheehan; Alan, Jama and Andrew DeFever; and Ashleigh, McKenzie and Spencer Klingman as well as three great-grandsons.
Annette was born and raised in Howard, attended Cottey College and graduated with a business degree from the University of Kansas in 1940.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18 and interment was at the Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel.
