Does Howard have a phone number to dial for time and temperature?

I don't think so.  Not an automated one anyway.  You can try the sheriff's office, but I wouldn't.  I keep the cable weather channel 16 on most of the time on the second TV.  Occassionally they give the temperature for Winfield.  Channel 99 is KWCH's weather continuously.  I think that the time is always displayed there and a radar is almost always up.  Also, the TV Guide channel, channel 18 has the time.

I don't know what Internet service you are using, but most (Aol, Bing, Google, etc.) feature a weather icon or just search the web for weather for your area which you can add to your computer so as to check it when you want.  As far as time, all computers have a time and date in the taskbar which is usually pretty accurate.

Thanks for all the info! But, ya see, I kinda had a routine when I lived in Parsons. Alarm goes off (turn it off), sit on the side of  the bed and dial the 'ol time and temp. Then I can tell my kid's (now just kid) how to dress for the day. It's something I did for years. I guess I kinda miss it! Kinda silly ain't it?

Lisa, time and temp, closest is Independence and there is a listing in the The  Real Yellow Pages phone book we get
Independence is 331-1113; sometimes I do call when I need to know, NOW!, what time it is takes less then three minutes, but
it is long distance.

Lisa! Your son is old enough to do that for himself. ;D If he is as technologically advanced as I think, he has at least 5 ways of getting the current time and temp without the house phone. Most places charge for that call now anyway. Lisa....Step- away- from- the- phone!
