Title: Whose government is it? Really.
Post by: Patriot on August 27, 2011, 06:35:21 PM

Sorry citizens... It's Obama's government, according to Yahoo! News.  Freudian slip?  Hey pseudo journalists!  Words matter!

Obama takes charge at hurricane command center
Yahoo News

US President Barack Obama warned Saturday the US east coast was in for a "long 72 hours" as he led his government's response to Hurricane Irene at a disaster command center in Washington.

Barack Obuma on Saturday personally led his government's response to Hurricane Dud, (the puniest, least deadly, most-hyped-up hurricane DUD in 50 years!!  And the MSM "weather" experts blew this so all out of proportion they ought to hang their heads in shame) .....marshalling top officials and visiting a disaster command center as the storm limped ashore:

"Hey, "You guys are doing a great job obviously," Obuma told a group in the command center. "This is obviously going to be a touch and go.  Wow, I had nothing better to do.  All this rain put an end to my golf game, so I popped in here to get the latest weather.  When is this storm going to get out of here so I can hit the links again?  You don't think Bush had anything to do with this, do yah?"

It is only because of Obuma's superior intellect that he could construct six such eloquent sentences.  WTF.... is he taking lessons from Joe Bite-me?  If Bachmann had said those sentences, the lame stream media would still be laughing and saying what a dunce she was.... instead we hear... crickets.  Yogi Berra had a better command of the English language.  Pathetic.

It's not even over yet and you are calling it a dud?  Thank goodness its not Andrew but the number of people who have been hurt, damaged or disrupted or yet will be, will be even more so, especially to our north.

New York Poll:

So, guys, have you heard?  There's a real, live hurricane headed our way!  Probably.  Maybe.  Whether or not it's actually going to hit hard, or even hit at all, remains to be seen, despite the mandatory evacuations, supermarket sweeps and impromptu natural disaster-themed board games cropping up before the storm.  Sure, there's some scary stuff out there, but...is it all too much?  Are we neurotic New Yorkers taking their paranoia a wee bit too far?  Is the city grossly overreacting to compensate for Blizzageddon?  Will the hurricane turn out to be more like... our earthquake?  You be the judge.

Poll: Are New Yorkers Overreacting To Hurricane Irene?
Yes 70.83%  (1,425 votes)

No 29.17%  (587 votes)

The Hype:

NYC Starts MANDATORY EVACUATION Of All New Yorkers In Zone A
Mayor Bloomberg said the city would start a mandatory evacuation of residents in Zone A areas—this includes Brooklyn's Coney Island and Manhattan Beach, Far Rockaway and Broad Channel in Queens, South Beach, Midland Beach, and other low-lying areas on Staten Island, and Manhattan's Battery Park City (see map below). He admitted, "We've never done a mandatory evacuation before. But this is a serious storm. We need to prepare for the worst and hope for the best," and warned, "This is very serious. Do not be fooled by the sun outside."

Just pondering 2011 in America....

Southern plains drought and Texas wildfires cause damage millions of acres of grassland and losses to livestock industry that will affect food prices for years to come.

Mississippi & Ohio River valley floods wipe out millions of acres of farm crops causing spikes in grain commodity futures.

Nashville under water.

And this morning?  24/7 national news coverage & pictures of the lifeguard station on Long Beach floating.  9 dead along the east coast mostly from trees falling on occupied homes.  Oh... and the Atlantic City casinos are closed.

Loss of life and property are always a bad thing... but c'mon, can we get some perspective please?
