This is the thought for the day.
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.
Darn good one, Frank.
Yup, no doubt about it.
The sad part is that the people who work for a living gave those who vote for a living their jobs! Talk about biting the hand that feeds ya....

Speaking of jobs, I heard Honda is building a new plant in Mexico, 3,000+ jobs. Wanna sneak in? Are there no enticements to get Honda to come here? Tax breaks for x number of years or something?
I am not totally sure what Frank meant by this post. But since I know him to be a rightous man of good intellect and wisdom. I will agree with this post. Some may say I am biased, which is true in this case, but I know Frank's wisdom and it should be given great consideration.

[edit] It is never fun being the only one in the room (forum) that doesn't get the joke. Who gets paid to vote? That is the part I don't get.

Those who vote for a living are in Congress! And they have forgotten who put them there.......
Lisa
I don't think the numbers really quite work, but the sentiment is a good one. Congress can definitely vote to spend money faster than most of us can make it.

Thanks Lisa. Now I get it. I just kept drawing a blank on who voted for a living.
David
I'd like to draw a blank on Congress...... >:(

I say blank to the whole lot of them, vote them all out. I think Congress draws a blank often. I think right now we are all blanked.
David
Too many of them are kept in office because of their senority , and thus power to get what their constituients ( state) want. Term limits. That will eliminate that mechanism.
There should be term limits for all politicians, not just the President and Congress. Term limits at local levels would be a welcome change as well. Then people couldn't make a career out of school boards, city councils or county commissions and it would give others a chance to prove what they can do. A lot of times, the NAME gets elected while others do not and the "others" might have good ideas that we the people would otherwise never know about!

And in the same way that a school superintendent helps with corporate memory retention of the district as the senior full time manager, so would a county manager for the county. A focal point for daily ops and a project manager under the direction of the board.
