Reaching too far across the isle too often can lead to just stepping across that isle and taking up residence on the side opposite one's original convictions. When that happens, you get the likes of Mr. Graham, Mr. Bush II, and others. 'Getting along' becomes giving in. And Williams is right... it's the voter who bears the ultimate responsibility and reaps the end rewards... good or bad. Government 'educates' in the government's interest. The result is overly complacent citizens..... or sheeple.
No different results than in local politics where the voter stops paying attention and self aggrandizing politicians move in using taxpayer resources for whatever special interests they fancy... eventually personal liberty suffers. Wake up voters.
