Has anyone else had difficulty getting onto the West Elk USD 282 site and reading the school board minutes? I get onto the site and then there's a line there, Warning: Parameter 3 to showItem() expected to be a reference, value given in /home/westkus/public_html/we1/includes/Cache/Lite/Function.php on line 100...Anyone know what this refers to?
Went there and got the same message.
Well, good...Misery loves company! lol Wonder what the problem is? I was reading the online Prairie Star and noted that there was going to be some new blood on the BOE...Should be an interesting year coming up for them.
It's gotta be a conspiracy! :o :o
LOL :o ;D ::) Oh, undoubtedly...Luckily, in this case, however, we do know for sure who the "puppet master" is (i.e. the School Board President) and who the "minions" are (i.e. the rest of the Board, the administrators and the teachers). <sigh>
:o :o :o This is truly scary news! :o :o
Juli told me that the site is down because they are redoing it. Their computer fella has some new software he's going to use to make the website much better than before. I'm looking forward to seeing it!
Lisa
Well now, that's a real disappointment. I was all set for some kind of outrageous conspiracy. Now what will I get to read? Just kidding, of course.

YEP, their Java programmers FUBAR'd the code! LOL.
It appears that they are updating their Joomla CMS software. They can google the error and get the link to the fix on Joomla.

Joomla is a PAIN IN THE ASS to work with. I hate that application.
You want to see one that works like a champ AFTER many hundreds of man hours involved go here....

And I knew what was going on! Just WHO AM I? ;D
Lisa
LOL ;D
Worse yet...WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS (other than staying cool for the next few days?? lol) ???????
My goal is to get moved to Howard! Oh, and keep cool... ;D
Lisa
Good luck with both of those...Moving is a royal pain in the patoot! :P

We are hoping that a mover here in Parsons will be able to do it. Otherwise we may have to hire some strong teenage boys there in Howard to help us unload! And it's so HOT!! We moved here in August of last year and it was really hard on us. There's gotta be a better way!
Lisa
When January comes around again just remember you said that! I'm still reeling from our winter two years ago. Uh, maybe hypnosis... It's cool and dry, it's cool and dry, it's cool and dry.
We moved here in January with 8 inches of fresh snow and the roads hadn't been plowed yet. That was no treat either. Good luck to you. Keep hydrated and find some moving air when you can.
The level of discomfort of exertion can be summed up with the following equation:
D = T x (Y squarred) Where D is level of discomfort, T is temperature in degrees F, and Y is number of years since you last hauled square bales of hay during July or August.
OMG...Another brainiac doing algebraic equations...Lord, save us! lol ::) ;D Flint, you're too much! lol ;D
Not to mention itchy too. :P In my case it's got to be almost 45 years since I helped on my girlfriend's family's farm.
But I'd rather work the hay than detassle corn. That's itchy AND sticky!
:P
I've never done that.
Both of them get mighty messy......but, I will take the hay anytime. I most of the time drove the truck and the guys rode up top and then back at the barn I helped load the elevator. Messy, but I loved it. Nasty in the heat, too.
We had a pulley and rope but it wasn't a huge barn either.

My brother and I "upended" the square bales in the field so the guys could hook 'em and pull them into the back of the truck. When I was 13, I graduated to driving the truck. So that would have been about 35 years ago.... :o
