That's a mighty fine question you ask.  His last post was at 8pm on December14th.

We have been wondering about Warph also. We really miss his common sense and broad knowledge. We hope he is OK and just taking a break from the Forum and will come back soon. Patriot is the next best thing to Warph when it comes to common sense and knowledge. Patriot KEEP ON KEEPING on.

Warph got back with me..
this is the scoop..

He has been sick for a couple of months. He came down with Valley Fever and pneumonia, went into the hospital Dec. 17th for 29 days. He's been home now for two weeks and still pretty weak ...but getting stronger each day.  They say it takes 6 to 8 months to get over Valley Fever. His pneumonia seems to be gone.  He said he has only been on the computer 2 times ..and was only on for a few minutes.. He still doesn't feel like being on.. He said to give him a few weeks and he should be back on the forum. He said to tell everyone on here "Hi"  and that he misses being on the forum..

Here's what Valley Fever is ...

Whew! I knew he was alive because I checked the Sun City, Surprise area obits and nobody of his age popped up. So sorry he has been so ill but glad to hear he is on the way to recovery. They have had a real epidemic of Valley Fever out there in 2010, but that never crossed my mind for him.

Thank you Teresa for finding out what was going on with Warph.  I have wanted to get his input on how the changes in Egypt and Tunisia will effect the world. Also, I know from my own 29 day stay in the hospital that there must be some insurance conspiracy that keeps it from being 30 days. Maybe Larry, Warph, and I can start a thread on what it is like to not be able to breathe during the day.  In California they call what Warph has San Joaquin Valley fever, which is common to the desert areas of the South West. Warph, I know after my 61 day stay in the hospital\nursing home after the fire, it took me a while to get back on the forum. Take care of yourself and know that you have friends all over the country waiting for you to return. What do you think the odds are that I can get Nancy Pelosi to send you a get well e-mail? I think I can. My worry is that it will cause you to choke to death? Let me know when you feel it is safe enough for you to hear from the botoxed doe-eyed minority speaker of the house. ;D

WARPH, sorry to hear you have been sick, hope you are better soon. Warph, I would really like to hear what you have to say about the unrest in the Middle East. My concern is that it is going to spread into to several other countries there and cause major problems in the World oil supply.

Jennifer, I really like your logo, very well down.

Frank, that is my concern as well.  Glad I like to ride a bicycle.

I don't know how anyone could like riding a bicycle. Riding a bicycle demands physical exertion to which I am highly opposed.

Hey Warph, I hope you heal up quick.

You know Frank, I think the situation in the middle east will affect more than the oil supply.

Sarge, I agree with you completely. The Middle East is very unstable and there could be attempts in several countries to overthrow their current leaders. America is going to face a severe energy shortage in the furture. We keep selling pickups with big  gas guzzling engines, many if not most of these pickups are not used for anything but to ride around in. I see lots of big Dodge Pickups, duallies, 4 door that are never used to pull or haul anything. We have got to change our attitude on energy, we no longer have priority over the world oil supply. China, India, Japan and other developing countries want their share and the price is going up . Nearly everyone of my neighbors have big V-8 pickups and not one of them use them for hauling or pulling anything.

I  have enjoyed your posts on the world oil situation... keep it up, very informative.  And it is good to be back... still having effects from the valley fever... good days and bad days.  Now if I could get rid of this silly rash I get from it, I might make a visit to the 19th Hole.... LOL

Sorry it has taken so long to answer your question... in fact you answered yourself, Frank.  It is going to be a hell of a mess by this summer.  Okay... let me be clear from the outset,  Mubarak was a ruthless dictator.  No question about it.  But Egypt is not like the US either.  They have very real internal security issues to deal with... I mean big time.  That is a not insignificant fraction of the population which is in favor of a unified Arab Middle East lead by the Wahabbist/Shiite arm of Islam.  Egypt made peace with Israel many years ago after having it's arse handed to it many many times by Israel.  Under that situation Democracy becomes very dangerous.  It is said that Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what is for dinner, and true Democracy is the fastest road to anarchy yet known to man.  Our own founding fathers had a very justified fear of true Democracy.... which is why we do not have a democracy in this country.... we have a constitutional representative Republic where there are mechanisms in place to blunt the claws of true Democracy.  Mubarak's dictatorship served a similar function, preventing the dangerous radicals from gaining a toehold in Egypt's government.  Those mechanisms just went out the window.  Will Egypt as a country survive?  Will there still be peace between Israel and Egypt?  I do not know.  To tell you the truth, I fear for the worst.

Libya???... don't get me started on that.  LOL...

Warph good to see you back on the forum. I miss your intelligent and witty responses.  I would really like to hear your take on all this unrest in the middle east, due to your experience in the State Dept. Otherwise I have to try and follow my Willie Brown politics here in Cal. It is interesting to see Google join the ranks of the top companies in the US. Now that they have helped the government do their covert take over of the middle east, signals their arrival into the mainstream.  My guess is this will go down in history as one of the great manuevers by the US government;  since Regan's destruction of the Soviet Union.  David Alexander
