You were right, Ronnie, it was "Patsy, as in Farmer Joe's favorite cousin" who posted that for me.

I had a virus hit my computer, (I actually did have lots of virus protection installed) and it wiped out everything.  So, my computer was in the shop for 10 days, and it's finally back home, all cleaned up, and, "no where to go," as I have to reinstall everything.  As in closing the barn door after the horse gets out, I "will" be getting something to back up my files, now that it's too late.  I've had viruses before, but never one that took all of my data.  As you can imagine, I haven't been the happiest of "campers."  But, as we always say, "Just get over it," and, I will!

However, for those of you I like to e-mail every once in a while, unless I've heard from you quite recently, I don't have your e-mail addresses any more.  So, my e-mail address is "bonnieb@cox.net," and I'd like to have your addresses back in my Address Book.

I've not been able to get back on Facebook, have to have some instructions on how to do that.

Thanks.

I had been missing you. You always gave me a comment when I sent you something cute or uplifting.
Do you need names off my address book.
If so email me and I will send you the list on yahoo also.
And to get to facebook just type it into your search engine and you just sign in. You didn't lose that account.
Love
Judy

Just so that folks know, if you get virus or think your data is lost on your hard drive, before someone else works on it, i for the most part can recover data and remove virus's. In the very least i usually can save your files.
I don't run windows on my computer so it is immune to virus's and i have the expertise and all to recover data that others say cannot recover.

The way a lot of the virus's work is they deny access to the hard drive so that you can't remove it and most shops just format the drive instead of recovering your data.

I can even recover data a lot of the times when your partition has been deleted as long as no one has reformatted it or tried to recover it unsuccessfully.

Just got a note from Patsy that Bonnie is having a burial for her computer.
It died this morning and Bonnie said, that was that. She is getting it out of her misery.
Not sure when a new one will be up and running. Seems she is running this weekend and
isn't sure when she can go shopping for a new one. But, a new one it will be.

Hold all your emails and notes. When she can she will jump in here. Or Patsy or I will do it.
Might hold a moment of silent prayer for the lost.............LOL had to do that. I know
she is ready to kick the stuffing OOPS, not Bonnie, but I would...........LOL

Tell her to be careful about the new ones.  They are trying to push the ones that do cloud computing.   I wouldn't use cloud computing if my life depended on it.  They keep all of your personal files on their computers not yours.  Make sure to get one that has its own hard drive.

Also the cloud computing is going to cost people a bunch in online fees.  they charge for how much surfing you do.

I just heard about those computers earlier this week and recall thinking, this is stupid.

But nevertheless, my Email is stored on line. Some hackers from China got into several Google Email accounts, including mine, and raised a little ruckus, which luckily did no damage. Google claims they have fixed the problem. Some one calling herself Lucy Loo Loo sent an Email to my addresses telling them hi and saying I had just purchased an item and would highly recommend they purchase also. "She" even provided a web site they could go to.

I don't particular like Google Email, and have everything transferred to Outlook. My old Email company quit operating earlier this year.

The computers that will store on line are those that come with Google Chrome installed as the internet browser. I tried Google Chrome earlier this year when it was in Beta form and did not care for it. There was no mention then, of their intent to store online.

Supposedly Dell and HP will offer computers with Google Chrome. They do come without a hard drive and I suspect there is not even a provision to add one later.

You are right. Those computers that have chrome operating system are driveless and will incure costs for internet usage.  They only allow 256 mb of bandwidth transfer and then you have to buy blocks of transfer for additional money.  That can add up very quick.  1 movie,  or 20 videos like youtube will eat up that bandwidth in no time.  Its a attempt at raising the cost of internet.

They will do it by making the systems dirt cheap.  Not worth it in the long run even when you are just surfing and getting email.  PLUS as it is, your files on your computer are protected by the 4th amendment as long as its in your house.  IF you store them on their server you get no such protection.  They will release any and all files to the government without your knowlege and without a warrant if asked to do so.

It doesn't matter if you think your information is out there already, that information is old info.  It is technically useless after 30 days since things change so rapidly.

Secondly, Its not all that hard to remove your information either.

You guys are talking "way over my head!"

Anyway, I do have a new HP Computer, some of the things are installed on it by our friend, others to come later, as we ran out of time.  "Oh, what fun!"

But, I'm back in business.  (Probaby!)  So, if you haven't dropped me an e-mail lately, would you mind doing that?  I've heard from several of you, and, I do thank you.

Only those of you who spend as much time doing all kinds of work on the computer as I do, know what it's like, to be without one for such a long length of time!  It certainly doesn't improve my( usually pleasant) dispostion!

Stay warm!

You're right, Teresa!  Right now, I seem to have several lists going!  Having everything so new, and different, isn't easy for "some of us!"
