$900 Million for What?
By Ken Blackwell · Wednesday, October 13, 2010
Israeli media watchdog Itamar Marcus makes a career of following the Palestinian press. His website provides timely and accurate translations of the Arabic language broadcasts and publications that are watched and read by the Palestinian public on the West Bank of the Jordan River and in the Gaza Strip. [http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=1524]
It's well worth our while as Americans to pay more attention to what the so-called Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) is doing. That's because we American taxpayers are footing the bill for much of it. (Traitors) President Obama and Sec. Hillary Clinton have promised $900 million in U.S. funds to the PLO, our supposed "peace partners" in the latest round of Mideast peace talks.
One story is typical of the PLO approach to peace. Late last year, a 45-year old rabbi, father of seven, was ambushed in his car by four members of the Palestinian Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) located three of the killers and killed them.
Here's what our peace partner, the PLO's Mahmoud Abbas, did then:
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas declared the killers "Shahids" (holy Martyrs) and sent his personal emissary to visit the families:
"Secretary General of the President's Office, Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim, conveyed condolences on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas to the residents of Nablus and to the families of the three Shahids [Martyrs] for the Martyrdom of their sons, who were assassinated by Israeli occupation forces yesterday morning. He conveyed to the fighting families letters of condolences from the President [Abbas] and updated them as to [Abbas's] decision to declare them as Shahids [Martyrs] of the Palestinian revolution..."
Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim: "Without doubt, what the [Israeli] occupation authorities have carried out is a wild and barbaric act and a deliberate, malicious assassination in cold blood."
Our tax dollars at work. Mahmoud Abbas and Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim are part of the notoriously corrupt organization that runs the West Bank. It's called the Palestinian Authority, but it remains to be seen how much authority it actually has. Abbas has declined to hold scheduled elections, fearing that Hamas, which won overwhelmingly in Gaza, would win on the West Bank, too. So, with U.S. financial and diplomatic support, Abbas clings to power.
He's a regular and honored visitor to the Obama White House. This is a man whose entire career was made as faithful lieutenant to Yasser Arafat. Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize for his famed "handshake" with Israel's Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in a deal brokered by then-President Bill Clinton. Arafat is the one who invented airline hijacking for terror purposes. Soon after shaking hands with Rabin, Arafat was up to his old tricks.
He instigated yet another of his intifadas—uprisings—sparked by Arab teenagers throwing stones, with deadly accuracy, at Israeli soldiers. If the Arab boys are shot and killed by the IDF soldiers defending themselves—so much the better. Abbas has more "martyrs" to celebrate and the PLO gets some favorable TV coverage in the credulous Western media
The United States has been pursuing a phantom for more than twenty years. We have bought into the fiction that the Arafat-Abbas clique—this so-called Palestinian Authority-- is something other than what it is: a murderous and corrupt gang of thugs.
The errors in U.S. foreign policy in this region are bi-partisan. It was the first Bush administration that sought to extend an olive branch and an open hand of friendship to the Arafat-Abbas gang in 1989. We were told then that if the PLO would just give up its campaign of terrorism against the Israelis, acknowledge the right of Israel to exist, then the United States would help the impoverished Palestinian people with development funds and sponsor their path to statehood
The PLO never gave up its plans. To this day, the destruction of Israel remains a goal of the PLO. The PLO "leaders" can readily tell us they renounce terrorism because they don't consider the murder of Israeli citizens—in pizza parlors, in schools, in hospitals—to be terrorism. They call it resistance and they call those who are killed on these strikes shahids—martyrs.
It's time for Americans to take a cold look at what twenty years of takkiya—the Arabic word for deception—have gotten us. President Reagan left office in 1989. He spoke about our dealings with the then-Soviet Union. He hoped for peace, and he said, "Trust, but verify." He said one more thing we need to apply to our role in the Mideast: "Don't be afraid to see what you see."
I look at the latest round of bogus peace talks and I see a discredited PLO boss sitting down to make promises to the Israelis he has no intention of keeping. If he actually did keep those promises, he would be murdered by his own cutthroat followers.
I see American honor stained, American power diminished, and American money wasted.
What do you see?

I see a gutless American Govt. that banks it's hope on peace.
I see the donkey endlessly try to catch the carrot.
I see a once great and powerful nation being brought to it's kness by the ever wanting for peace.
I see a Govt. that has no knowledge of how these people think.
I see a country that will soon be like the ones we are hoping will have peace with the world.
I see a rose colored sky where we can walk down the street and pick apples, a bench where we can sit and enjoy a "joint" with out being harrassed.
I see a day when we will have no work to go to nor worry of daily needs, as everything will be provide for us. Our homes will all look the same, our clothes will be robes and our shoes sandels. Our churches will be Mosques and we will be able to own women and camels. We will be able to kill people who disagree with our "shira laws"
I'am often asked "Master, how is it that you see these thing?" and I reply, "how is it, that you don't?". But Master, I did not think this could happen, is it that you are a God? I reply, "no my son, it is that I have seen these things before". When you have aged and matured, only then will you pay attention.
I see a zionist neocon trying to get us involved in other people's business. Trying to avert us from seeing the tens of billions that we funnel to Israel while they pull the same kind of crap. I see someone who calls people traitors, but defends the rights of a foreign country to influence our politics and spy on us. Your allegiance is to Israel, not the the US, go home.
Now Anmar, why would you want to rile ol WARPH when you know he's going to chew you up and spit you out ??? Oh yea, still waiting on you to tell us when & where you took your basic training !!!
Jarhead, go I never said I went to basic training, it was part of a long post that was supposed to be humorous. You may recall I mentioned that i was in training for the world cup, i won the lotto, some other BS. Sorry if humor isn't really something that you understand easily, I'm pretty gullible too. (but not so gullible that i still vote republican after they screw us all constantly)
The only chewing Warph does is on his own words while he rails against social programs while complaining that he's not getting enough money from the government for his retirement. I guess he can't afford to play golf as many hours a day as he would like without his COLA

Golly, Jarhead... I don't want to be too hard on the poor fool.... 'cause she knows nothing of what she speaks. All hot air and lies. She seems to follow obuma's line of reasoning when it come to those lies. Like the poor excuse she gave on basic training. Big lie. But, then again, in her mind she probably thinks she really did. Like I said, Poor fool. Now I considered some rather mild combacks for this poor idiot... such as...
* Are you always this stupid, anmar or are you making a special effort today.
*Brains aren't everything. In fact in anmar's case they're nothing.
*Don't let your mind wander, anmar - it's far too small to be let out on its own.
*Anmar always finds himself lost in thought - it's an unfamiliar territory.
*Anmar doesn't know the meaning of the word "fear" - but then again he doesn't know the meaning of most words.
*I don't know what makes anmar so dumb but it really works.
*Anmar does the work of three men: Larry, Curly & Moe.
....but I felt they were a little too extreme. Then I thought, what would Shakespeare say?
*The wicked fire of lust have melted anmar in his own grease
*Anmar's a knave, and I will aggravate his style
*Art thou a lunatic, anmar
*I say anmar had drunk himself out of his five senses
*Four of anmar's five wits went halting off...
or in Latin: "Tu es stultior quam asinus"
Then I thought yiddish... "Yutz, gayn cacken ofn yam"...
hmmm... no, that wouldn't work... anmar wouldn't understand the yid... then I thought, I'll call my 7 yr. old nephew and see what he could come up with... He said, "anmar:
*Your so stupid it took you an hour to make minute rice.
*Your so stupid you think you're a great artist because people give you the brush off.
*Your so stupid you think a quarterback is a refund.
*Your so dumb you fall over the cord on a cordless phone.
*Is 13 your age or your IQ ?"
Alright.... not bad little buddy.
But, still....
After all, one has to feel a little sorry for this sad little muslim who tends to demean most of the members of the forum. So I just settled for something simple and to the point: "anmar, you're an a**hole!"
But then I thought... hmmmm... that's a little harsh for someone that probably scored a 67 on the stanford-binet test, which would make anmar mentally handicapped.... sorry.... mentally challenged, or for want of a better term, intellectually disabled. So the best way to put it would be, without being too demeaning: "Damn those hemorrhoids, my 'anmar' is sore as hell!"
(Sigh).... I feel better now... time for my second cup of Peets coffee.
Warph, your buddies at the CIA could not have had Anmar under surveillance very long to come up with this! Everything you said is true about her. It's as obvious as the big red veined nose on Jarhead's face! LOL Put the AR back up Jarhead, i'm just jokin!---Robert
Why the hell do have to be a**holes to those you disagree with? Why not just debate the issues? Do you somehow believe your display of ignorance passes for intelligence? It is your right to speak your mind as you see fit, but is this really how you want to use that right?
Jerry,
Warph never debates issues. He posts his bullcrap lies, and then once he's refuted, he makes personal attacks. He has no facts to support his claim. Only relies on logical fallacies to make claims but when faced with a challenge, this is the best he can do. Unfortunately, many of the people who post here are too dense to recognize the pattern. But hey, these are the same people that continue to vote against their own interests year after year because their corporate masters at Fox tells them to. Can you imagine? The leaders of the right wing media are an Australian Jew and a Saudi Prince, and as bigoted as these people are, they blindly follow these two.

Why do you only ask these questions of folks that don't agree with you? Why not ask anmar or yourself these same questions? Is it only the "left" that gets to name call and play the racist card when they run out of arguments? Did anmar "debate the issue" and stick to the facts on this thread?? No. Yet you remained silent when he piped up with his B.S.

In general his response have not been as severe as Warphs or few others, however that said it is appropriate that one should post only about issues and avoid insulting the people they are debating - left, right, center or otherwise. The reason I probably would have posted in response to only Warph or one other is that they are typically the ones posting first and I have received a few of their response as well. Also Varmit I haven't run out of arguments, I've just decided there is little point in discussing on this forum. Obviously it is only welcome to express one point of view here otherwise the person is denigrated for daring to post otherwise. So more to the point I am sticking up for the minority on this particular forum. If the minority were those expressing opinions that are 'right-wing' and they were denigrated, I would support them as well. I don't have to agree with someone to believe that they should be treated with respect. Lowering the tone of the debate is more constructive.
oh, okay...so calling people "a**holes" and ignorant is avoiding insults and sticking to the issues?
Respect? Ha!!! I was told that I should be beaten for having a different political view. Some respect. A certain few have chased a number of good people off of here who are too polite to play in the mire. All they want to ever post to are people who think just like they do. Why so narrow minded? As soon as someone says something "different," the conversation becomes coarse and crude. To hell with truth or accuracy or just additional information. Why bother? Why not just get out the rope and show the true colors? Even Christine O. managed to embarrass our whole state and show how dumb she really is. She is clueless about the US Constitution and defended herself by saying that at least Senators don't have to memorize it. And I had held out some hope for her because I agreed with some of what she had to say. Not now! If she represents the intelligence level of most Repubs, we'll be in worse trouble if "they" take over...they won't know what to do with it in all their little "newbie" closets in Washington. They, and she, will simply be used as pawns by the heavy duty politicos. What a disappointment. Maybe they can continue to rewrite history...and follow a few power hungry political "entertainers" into hell. Talk about sheep!
Yes, I am pissed. I didn't deserve that recent slam, totally uncalled for. I have now lost all respect for that man and will have no further interest in anything he has to say because it will be so obviously wrong.
This country's business woes started long before Bill Clinton was born. It's a shame that some won't see what's right in front of them in the many economic histories that have been written...by historians, not politicians. About the robber barons and the real moneyed people of the past and why highways sudden over took and ran the rail roads out and who profited from it. But that's alright, today's versions depend on shallow people who swallow every word and fall for the "bread and circuses''. They will put us right back where we were before, but without the interest levels that people used to be able to retire on from investing their savings. Right back to Countryside and Enron and tidal waves of big business money coming in without limits, to bribe and lobby their way in to whatever a few top people want. They will keep right on protecting each other and securing for themselves ridiculous salaries and perks while you folks will politically keep taking in each other's laundry to survive. Less Gov't ? Sure. Lower taxes? You bet! Who would ever be against that? But be careful. The woods has wolves who will take advantage of you in an instant. If a certain C.O. has her way....What Constitution? I'll take my disgust now and go somewhere else with it.YUK!
Now Diane, Christine has her worth; she has given me several good laughs in the past few weeks! ;D ;D ;D
Diane,
Not sure why you think C.O. is such an idiot for questioning Coons on where in the 1st amendment it says "separation of church and state". I tried to find where it said that in the 1st ammendment and I just can't find it. Maybe you could enlighten both me and C.O.-------or maybe CO knows the Constitution better than that Marxist,Coons!! :)
Jar, you know as well as I do that's it's the meaning of the two clauses, (you do know there are two, right?) They keep the Gov't from interfering with religion. "The government shall neither establish a religion nor interfere with the practice of religion." ''Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise there of."
These absolutely do create the separation of church and state. CO should have known that. They didn't want another Henry the VIII situation. Unfortunately Madeline Murray O'hair really messed things up and called the amendment into question. By the way...why do you so easily believe Chris Coons is a Marxist? Where is your first hand proof and I don't mean something you read that someone wrote in jest. What "Marxist" type actions has he taken during his tenure as OUR County Executive?

Government violates the lst portion of the first and second clause constantly. They prohibit and interfere with the practice and free exercise of it all the time.

Actually the statement was that he was being an a**hole towards Anmar and I was tired of the tone, excuse me. That was my point is that I will stick up for people, tough if you don't like it. As I said, though, perhaps we can try and discuss the issues.
Steve, we weren't discussing the merits of the amendments or who does what to who or why. I was just disappointed as to CO's ignorance of the first amendment, especially at a debate in front of a bunch of law students at Widner law School. She stated, and I quote,"Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" and later,"You're going to tell me that's in the first amendment?" She didn't ask where are the words "separation of church and state," She asked exactly what I quoted above, to the gasps and giggles of the audience. She really hurt herself. She had been trying to get something going on creationism VS evolution in public schools. Since creationism is religious in nature it can't be "taught"as a fact in public school, just as an idea or concept. Evolution has basis in science so it can be explored deeper, but still it can be said that the two ideas disagree.

Sly like a fox you are, Diane, with a question like that. Seeing as how the Libs are screaming their heads off about CO saying stupid things about witches and such, many moons ago, but give Coons a free ride on what he wrote for his college paper, way back when. What was the title ?? oh yea,"The Making of a Bearded Marxist"-and this was after he made a trip to Kenya and became disenfranchised with America.
I think CO did extremely well in their debate considering the deck was stacked against her---Wolf Blitzer as moderator---a liberal audience of half wits that feel superior to most if not all other people---and Coons standing there making snide remarks and giving political answers (half truths if not outright lies )
I really liked it when he was asked if his family would profit if cap & trade was passed. He danced around that question like he was on DWTS before he finally said "yes ".
Jar, I don't need to be sly. I'm not running for anything. He is a seasoned politician and she wants to take him on, but doesn't know squat about the state she wants to represent. She doesn't even know the size of Delaware. As I said once before, I had hopes for her, but so far she hasn't come up with what I want to hear, and that's HOW she wants to implement the changes she talks about. I don't care what either of them did in high school or college. I want to know about now and tomorrow. And if she isn't ready to take her lumps with the big boys, she should practice in some little local office first.
She plays a little too easy with other people's money and has been caught in a number of lies. This "I'm you" nonsense doesn't cut it with me. Nobody has ever sued me for anything let alone for tuition, mortgage and other bills. I've never tried to pretend my home is my campaign office and take all my living expenses off my taxes. But I guess that should make her a good politician some day. As far as those half wits, as you call them, they are the people who pay the taxes in this state and have a vested interest in what goes on here and who represents them in Washington. Now ask how much she paid in taxes last year. I knew some of the people in the audience and they sure weren't all liberal Democrats. Maybe that does make them superior. They are involved, not just sitting on the side lines taking cheap shots.
I'm not sure why Wolfe Blitzer was there. Nancy Karabjanian didn't need him. I'm also not sure why you watched. What do you care?
I find it very interesting how interested you are in little Delaware's politics. How about your own? I've never made any comments ever about the politicians of Kansas, Oklahoma or Texas, do you know anything about them or is the game to just stick it to me no matter what?

The current President thought we had 57 states too...and look where he is today.. :-\
Di,
I guess the reason I'm interested in "YOUR" little Delaware is because the last time I checked IT was still a part of the USA.
Why is it that you seem to have an opinion on everything pertaining to our LITTLE Elk county but if anyone from here has an opinion on something that is happening in Delaware ---or like the New Black Panthers doing their dastardly deed of voter intimidation (even though it was not in your "little' Delaware),it seems to be off limits to us ?
Oh yea, I think CO took her "lumps" just fine with the 'big boy". I thought he looked like a typical Liberal politician bumbling through the debate relying on his snide remarks. For a fleeting moment I thought it was Biden on stage instead of Coons !!!
So you don't care what Coons did or said back in his youth ? I'm sure Willie Ayers will be glad to hear that. Maybe he will move to Delaware and run for the Senate in the future.
I suppose I should be flattered. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Are you as interested in Kansas politics as you are in Delaware's? Nothing is off limits to you, but it would be nice if you (plural) didn't allow yourselves to be manipulated by people who have negative agendas, and especially those for whom facts and truth mean nothing, but somehow have something to gain. I don't recall ever having any opinions about Elk County politics aside from perhaps suggesting that people show up to listen and talk to their reps and getting out to vote. Willie Ayres? You jest surely. And CO slept her way all over campus before she suddenly decided to take an anti sex stance. So what! If Chris Coons runs for president, I'll research it then. If CO decides to run for president I'll check out the anti sex, anti masturbation police then. It's trivial, silly and is meant to be a distraction from the real issues at hand. Actually Chris Coons didn't say a lot of what he could have to make her look bad. Her business of running her campaign out of her town house, cheating on her taxes, defaulting on her mortgage and poo pooing the whole thing is a big deal here. A campaign office is not an allowed home occupation here because of the traffic it generates at all times of the day and night and takes up local parking too. Usually people rent store fronts in commercial areas and then there is no problem. She is another one who has never had a real job in the same sense that Pres .Obama was criticized. The more information that comes out the more I am disappointed in her.
Teresa, I have no clue as to what the pres. was thinking when he thought we had 57 states or whatever he said. Politicians in general confound me sometimes with what comes out of their mouths. George Jr. was a classic example. He had a brain/mouth disconnect quite often. It meant nothing in terms of what was on his mind. Some people "slip tongue" a lot and really can't help it. That hasn't got anything to do with anything. I would never vote for or against anyone just because they stumbled over their words sometimes any more than you would vote against someone who can't spell.. Tell me about issues! Define the problems. HOW does the person plan to fix them in a realistic manner. I'm beginning to find that I have to disregard the sound bites on TV to really get any real information to make decisions from, and get back to information from the Internet and news magazines and newspapers, for as long as they last. Even those are hard to sort through because of all the junk.
I'm still trying to decide who I'm going to vote for here. So far it's two Repubs, two Demos and an Independent. At least in local lower political contests there aren't professional handlers evaluating every word and calculating the effect of every Senior Center visit. You never say a word about your local politics but you are quick to criticize mine. I'll vanish once again. It's a waste of time.
Die--Di, sorry can't spell. I am a red blooded American born and raised in Kansas. The last I knew Delaware was not Las Vegas, so what happens there does not stay there. For us Kansans who have an opinion and have a right to speak, you sure as hell jump on our ass and tell us we don't know what the hell we're talking about. And it doesn't make a damn if it's in Delaware or right here in our own damn town. So maybe you should shut your old flappity lips and take a breather off of here, which you once told me to do. And if you find yourself having trouble staying off of here, not that I have any authority to keep you off of here, maybe Al could slam your fingers in the car door.---Red Blooded Republican, Mr. Robert L. Walker, KSHillbillys
Ahh the smell of napalm in the evening...
Well, well, look who climbed out of the shallow end of the gene pool. I was all done and gone on this subject, but you had to open your mouth and let people know you are 'way behind again. I have as much right to speak as you, so get used to it. But we do agree on one thing, you don't know what you you are talking about when it comes to my state. I really don't know why you care, you can't vote here. Now go read up (if you can read, we know you can't spell) on Delaware's politics since you are so interested and I'll give you a written test tomorrow.
You are wasting your time barking at me. I'm immune to it. But do keep it up, it reminds people what you are really like. All puff and bravado and yak and no substance. I think I'll go look up Kansas politicians and see what scandal I can find this week, besides your school board I mean. I suggest you stop getting so personal or I'll blab some of the interesting gossip I've learned about you. I don't know why you are so fascinated with me, but if you are determined to play, bring it on. Maybe I can get someone to beat up your wife for you.

oh, and before you go making comments on the gene pool, you might want to check that picture you posted of yourself...
cool, so you guys aren't going to cry when people not living in kansas come in here to talk politics as many of you are prone to do. Bunch of hypocrites, lol
...So it's OK to say that Al should slam my hand in a door, but I'm not allowed to answer back? By the way it was just a sarcastic comment, no truth to it. I wouldn't wish anyone to be beat up.That's what totally uncivilized jerks do. I had finished my comments on that thread, after having said nothing for quite awhile, and didn't expect to be attacked by your beloved for no reason. I have never called any of you stupid and I wish you would stop attributing that to me because I didn't and you aren't. There have been local people on here who have called several of you stupid, but not me. Other people on other threads call each other silly names and call each other stupid and dummies, but I stay away from that because of you. You have set up a double standard that leaves me out. There is a big difference between acting like an idiot and being one. The difference is up to you. I don't know why you feel so insecure but it has nothing to do with me. I've told you several times I'd be glad to be friends if you'd let me, but it's more important to you to slam me and make nasty comments. I also told you before I will not take personal insults any longer and I will make my retorts personal if I have to. I will fight back... You make it personal, plan to eat t!
As far as Delaware politics I am pleasantly surprised and pleased that you are interested, but you'll have to forgive me for being suspicious. After all, I've been bombed by anti Biden comments for a couple of years now. Eventually history will decide how this all plays out. As far as CO is concerned I had high hopes for her but she just isn't living up to it. Her local newspaper articles and talks to local people never touch on local issues and local economy and how she plans to help keep Delaware afloat. Dover Air Force Base is a big employer in Kent county, yet not a word on what she would do to keep it from closing. Nothing about the beaches either that need maintenance and repair. Jobs are a problem here just like everywhere else but she says not a word. The whole new unfinished bridge over Indian River inlet is sinking yet not a word from her about what should be done about it. All that and more is very important here but from her we get to hear about how masturbation is infidelity. Please! I expected and hoped for more. I'm afraid she pulled out the rug from under her own feet politically but she sure is hauling in the money. Maybe she finally paid her staff that she had stiffed during her other two runs for office. She has also pulled some campaign fast ones by telling people she has a schedule conflict and can't show at a scheduled appearance but she told the other group the same thing and actually went to neither. I don't want someone that slippery representing me. I'd like to have some one who is smarter about Gov't and politics than I am. In a way I hope Chris Coons gets it because he will have to leave his office in New Castle County . Paul Clark would take over and is a good man.
I do admire how hard you all are fighting for your kids with that school board issue but I don't dare say anything because I'd be smartly told it is none of my business, which is true, but as an old teacher I do care. Now go ahead and take a few more cheap shots at me. I also have a feeling that those who suggest that I be beat up and injured when I have a different point of view beat up on their own families at home. Why else would they ever suggest such a thing as an appropriate response?
Anmar & Diane,
I wouldn't expect either one of you to be interested in a local or state race because you don't live here and would not effect you----BUT--we were talking about a US Senate seat. That "US" means United States which we in Kansas are a part of. You have every right and concern to be interested in any Kansas congressional seat when it effects us all.
Uh, Jar that's all well and good, but where were you (plural) in 2008? I took a lot of unnecessary mean heat from several of you over Joe Biden and there was nobody more surprised than I when he was chosen as Pres. O's running mate. But what about our other national candidates seats? In the House? Where was the interest in Delaware's candidates then? Mike Castle ran and won...nothing heard from any of you before during or after. Doesn't the house affect us all too ? Excuse me if I'm a just a little skeptical about the genuine interest.
Diane,
Huh ?? I believe if you look back at your #11 reply on this thread you will see you are the one who started talking about CO. I thought that was who we were talking about. Not sure how Biden or Mike Castle got into the mix because I sure never brought them up on this thread. Oh well, I'm done with it all. You are right---I aint interested at all !!!!
Chris Coons Lied, Granny Died.......................
by Ann Coulter
10/20/2010
In all of life's tribulations, there is nothing so aggravating as being condescended to by an idiot. In last week's CNN debate in the Delaware Senate race between the astonishingly well-spoken Christine O'Donnell and the unfortunate-looking Chris Coons, O'Donnell had to put up with it from Coons for 90 minutes.
O'Donnell wiped the floor with Coons, moderators Wolf Blitzer and Nancy Karibjanian, and the idiotic University of Delaware students asking questions -- all of whom were against her.
(With the nation on the verge of another great depression -- the brunt of which, to my delight, will fall most heavily on college students -- guess what the dunderheads asked? GUESS! That's right: They asked about abortion "in the case of rape or incest," "don't ask, don't tell," doing something about "our carbon footprint," and the kook-minister who was going to burn Korans, because ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE, I TELL YOU!)
O'Donnell's responses couldn't have been better if Thomas Sowell were whispering them in her ear. But after every well-thought-out answer she gave, Coons would act as if O'Donnell were speaking in tongues and make a dismissive remark to the moderators: "If you can reconcile all those comments, you're an even more talented reporter than I think you are, Nancy."
O'Donnell managed to simply answer the questions without wasting everyone's time with snippy asides about Coons' replies.
Then Coons would say something incomprehensible, false or insane -- such as his conspiracy theory about the Australians uniting with the Chinese against America.
Yes, Australia, America's most loyal ally.
After O'Donnell described the China problem with absolute precision -- the Chinese hold so much of our debt, we can't hold them accountable in their dealings with Iran or North Korea -- Coons smirkingly replied: "It's hard for me to respond effectively, Wolf, to all the different issues that my opponent has raised in previous statements, and I'll just let that stand."
Then he launched his Chinese-Australian conspiracy theory!
Coons said: "The Australian navy engaged in joint exercises with the Chinese and specifically excluded us recently. A dramatic shift in the Australian policy."
Somehow, The New York Times had missed the national security implications of Australia's engaging in naval exercises with China! Either that or Coons is Dennis Kucinich, I've-got-eight-test-tube-babies-and-I'm-broke crazy.
Weirdly, though, considering Australia is snubbing the U.S. and sidling up to China, the Australian navy also recently staged a dramatic re-enactment of Gen. Douglas MacArthur's Incheon landing during the Korean War, which saved Australian troops from annihilation.
It's strange that the Australians would honor America -- or as the North Koreans put it, try to impress "U.S. sycophants and lackeys" -- just as they're distancing themselves from us. Maybe that's why no one else in the developed world is worried about Australia's joint naval exercises with China.
(But The Weekly World News is jumping right on it!)
In contrast to O'Donnell's manifestly true point that "China could take us over monetarily before they could militarily," Coons seemed more worried about a military invasion. He warned that "as the Chinese have become economically stronger, they are seeking to become militarily stronger."
(O'Donnell quipped: "Are you saying that China has a plot to take over America?" -- exactly what she has been falsely accused of saying.)
If you do nothing else before casting your vote, Delawareans, ask people who know something if China poses more of a military threat, or a monetary threat, to us. (Make sure they know you're talking about China the country, not singer/actress Chynna Phillips.)
What should worry Delaware voters even more than Coons' demanding a first strike against China was the elaborate lying he did -- on stage, in front of everyone -- about his family's financial interest in cap and trade.
Responding to the question about "our carbon footprint" from a student who will be living with his parents soon, O'Donnell gave a tour-de-force attack on the cap-and-trade bill, mentioning the massive electricity bills that will devastate Delaware's farmers and elderly citizens.
She concluded by asking Coons: "Speaking of cap and trade, your family business stands to financially benefit from some environmental legislation under Bush -- "
Then she was cut off by the moderator.
Coons sneered: "A fascinating question that really makes no sense, yet, so if you'd like to -- better ask the whole question, I'd be -- what's she talking about?"
O'Donnell said sweetly, "I'd like to know if your family business stands to have a financial gain if cap and trade is passed and, if so, would you recuse yourself in the lame duck sessions from voting with Harry Reid?"
Coons again scoffed at O'Donnell: "Fascinating question. No."
Thinking he had caught O'Donnell in a gaffe, Blitzer asked for her evidence. Oops!
O'Donnell cited W.L. Gore -- the company owned by Coon's stepfather, which also provided Coons with the only for-profit job he ever held -- and said that the company makes fuel cells and other things that companies will be forced to buy under cap and trade. (Making W.L. Gore at least the second entity named "Gore" to cash in on the global warming hoax, by the way.)
Blitzer asked Coons, "Is that true?" Oops, again!
Amid a litany of irrelevancies and insults -- That's quite a stretch, Gore makes a lot of products, we also sell dental floss! -- Coons finally coughed up the truth: Yes, Gore will benefit if cap and trade becomes law.
He explained his earlier, by-now-obvious lie by saying that "it took a couple of minutes to even understand what she was talking about."
Really? That's strange, because according to Delaware newspaper articles not seven years ago, Coons himself -- as the lawyer for Daddy's company –- deployed Gore scientists to testify before Congress in favor of environmental mandates because, as Coons said, it was good for business.
On Nov. 16, 2003, "company lawyer Christopher Coons" told Wilmington's News Journal: "This is one of those very rare moments where the legislative outcome matters to Gore."
I guess now we know why Coons kept pretending he couldn't understand the batty dame.

Looks like Ann Coulter is pretty smart---for a blonde !!
I subscribe to her newsletter and also listen to her on Fox News..
but then again..
I pretty much think blonds are ALL smart.. LOL
Its old fisherman Marines that I don't trust..

So now W L Gore, that has a very successful business model and been healthy through out all this mess is suddenly the bad guy? Do you know how many of you have yourselves have contradicted the comments made by Ann Coulter and CO about that very thing? Of course they will make money! That's what a good company does! Because of that people have jobs, right here, not off in India or China. They actually make things! Real things that are produced right here and shipped out. I still have and wear one of the original Gore Tex rain coats. It needs seam sealer once in awhile because it was a prototype that I tested for them years ago. They pass the lions share of the profit along to their "associates." There are no employees. They hire a great many people and have a very healthy profit line, but no Billionaire CEO's. Believe me, you would want them where you are. As far as Chris Coons being "given " a job, he is a qualified lawyer and did indeed work for Gore. Considering how many people in this country work in family businesses, I can't imagine why that would be a problem. Steve himself said people should be able to charge whatever they want for what for they make. He also said the company owes the employees nothing but a days wages for a days work. You work for/with Gore you'd think you died and went to heaven. As far as "everybody" who was in Newark for the debate being against CO, nothing could be further from the truth. That is all political spin that isn't fair to her or anybody else either. I said I did like some of her ideas. Why isn't anybody interested in them? I'll tell you why... it's a game of political distraction from both sides, and as one who lives here I am sick of it. Ann Coulter and Wolfe Blitzer both need to have their butts kicked. I don't care squat about the answers either of them gave that night, because the questions were very poor. Little pieces of things were pulled out and asked about with the whole story not being told. It was all political hog wash and they were both losers as far as I'm concerned. Chris Coons was easier to pick on because he has been around longer ,is older and has done things. He has a history .She is so young there is almost nothing to talk about. She has no history to speak of and no experience, has never even had a real job, let alone be be a manager as a county executive has to do.That's one of the big things you all didn't like about Pres Obama. No experience. But now you want us to have as our Senator a person with no experience to speak of
No abortion under any circumstance? Even if the mother would die? Yep.That's going to be popular. But it's a dumb question that she could easily change her mind about later. What about the real hot topics? What's her real stance on immigration. What's his? Real answers please, not something they think will look good on the news but would never be implimented. And what does the "unfortunate looking Chris Coons" mean? That's disgusting and 'way beneath anyone I would have any respect for. Now only pretty people are worthwhile? I can't stand Ann Coulter when she pulls that stuff. CO has some interesting ideas that still appeal to me, but she's got to grow up in a hurry and get past the "I am you" silliness or she'll never make it.
I did say that and i still say that, but this company better realize that if they DO suck the public dry over this, that the public will retaliate by voting against them with their dollar. Thats the power of capitalism and free market. You see now the cats out of the bag and I'll guarantee that if they do go down that road, people will say the hell with that company and stop bying their products.
I doubt it. Gore makes a lot of specialized medical equipment, coated wire, cable and outer wear, bad weather shoes and boots etc. LL Bean has some similar, but even they use Goretex to make their water proof products....go ahead ,buy cheap China knock offs. Of course you folks would deny being impressed with anything from here, but they are the model American business should be using. Gore has a very consumer friendly policy about profit. They would never"suck the public dry "as you say. You'd rather go to Walmart? Help yourself.

I actually tend to buy local. And lately i haven't been able to buy anything us made worth a crap. They are getting as bad as chinese.
Hey Varmit! (good name) I was rereading your posts and decided to call you out. HA! Insult me all you want, but who is the braver here ? I put my ugly mug out there and will take my lumps for all to see and all my information is easily available. And you? fake name, no picture, no information of any kind. Constant verbal attacks that will now be met in kind. You speak volumes about your real character every time you attack someone for their opinion, especially if you suggest they be injured for it. You simply refuse to learn to debate ISSUES! Hide, ya Varmit, (not the preferred spelling by the way) dart out from the shadows, take cheap shots at several of us on here and then disappear back down your hole. It's amazing how little "free speech" is allowed on here, especially not without nasty, vile consequences that would be beneath most civilized people. Poke your finger at me all you want, you won't quit the personal insults, so I'll call you exactly what you are determined to make me think you are. You can guess what that is. And you are raising your son and daughter in your image? How sad!
Jar, I was just poking you in fun, and I was referring to a different post than you thought. I'd have to look it up but it had to do with respect I think. Something there is very little of on here recently. It doesn't matter any more, I'm sorely disappointed in what my father's home town has apparently allowed to happen. March 15, 2009. What a sad day. Bye for now.
No matter how it's spelled, Varmit is a good guy that would do just about anything for anyone. His sense of humor is dry and sarcastic, which may not appeal to some people but really hits the spot with others. He's a very intelligent man. He's not usually too concerned with what others think of him either. Several people on this forum do not put up actual pictures of themselves or post their real name. Big deal. It's a public forum where people can go to express themselves, they don't have to be politically correct or meet other peoples' standards. They just need to be themselves! My two cents on the matter---Jennifer
Very nicely said Jennifer...
Billy is consistent and true to his convictions..( no matter if anyone agrees with him or not.) ..
He's a good husband and father to his family.. and a good neighbor to his fellow man. Do I agree with him on all the way he believes? No~~ But I don't agree with anyone all the time. ( not even my own family) ...but .....he's a good guy...
and is definitely someone who I would know that I could depend on if I needed anything.
Fine, but I'm not allowed to be myself without the suggestion that I be injured, or even better should die? Very classy. A huge double standard. Why am I not respected for my convictions too? I don't care about the "political correctness," but I don't think suggesting that it's OK to hang Niggers from a tree AGAIN is funny and it wasn't when they were hung from a tree the first time around. That's very common and crude.
I'm just sick of the personal attacks and I will fight back. You say he's a nice guy...how would I ever know that? What would I ever base it on? Usually I can talk with Steve and a few others about various things ,some we agree, some we don't, but usually we can discuss the strengths and weaknesses of AN ISSUE and it remains civilized. But a few on here immediately jump to attacking the person, with all the unfair generalities and labels...how does that look? I started out visiting this site in 2007, was welcomed as a friend and got along with every one. I have roots there. Then I started being labeled as an outsider by a couple of people who came even later than I did. Jealousy? I don't know, but suddenly I was having to defend myself over any opinion I had. Suddenly I was labeled the "liberal Democrat" and I have been unable to regain my place as an Independent and a friend. I'm called ugly names and now I'm supposed to be beat up and slammed in a door for my beliefs, by the same people who want to live by the constitution. But only as long as their rights are preserved, nobody else's. Some very good people have ditched this forum because of the ugliness of a few.Thankfully we have been able to remain friends by other means and they have assured me it's not me, I'm not crazy. I've tried several times to repair it, tried to be friends and have even apologized if someone thought I stepped over the line. Have I ever received any back? Hell no! Normally I'm pretty passive but I won't put up with it any more. If someone gets rough with me, expect to get it right back.
By the way, Jennifer I know you don't like me, but I was very impressed with some of the writing you have done regarding the school issue. It was well thought out and well presented. I don't know if you will ever get to the bottom of the issue because the school board can't talk publicly about personnel matters and a new board won't be able to either, but good for you all for keeping on it.
Diane,
they are hypocrites, they will always defend the people from their own ideology regardless of the facts. If you want independent thinkers, you're looking in the wrong place.
Jarhead,
Elk county's elections affect me, I own land there and pay property taxes.
Anmar my dear boy... better watch what kettle you are calling black.. ;)
As far as being independent thinkers.. I think we all are that..
And to be honest.. we ALL stick with those who believe the same as we do ..or who are more like us and tend to think in the same independent sphere circles .. Now it might not be to your liking..... but ( you know... birds of a feather) :)
Why would I want to or be interested in agreeing with someone that I don't agree with... ??? Or who I think with all my heart and soul is wrong.? So you or others might not get your panties in a tight wad and start hyperventilating? Or that you can try to convince me in your mind numbing detail what I do not believe? Sorry.. I'm not much into being socially or politically correct anymore. I see the facts as I see them.. just as you do... and I don't care to try to see things as you do. Sorry if that doesn't go by the " Liberal Rules".. of play.
Just my opinion...and I realize I am old and slow and stupid...but I don't think the majority is in YOUR independent thinking circle.. But it seems that the 1 or 2 people who DO give you more than a sideways glance of attention..you are sure quick to jump on their wagon.. and agree with them. ( Birds of a feather maybe?) ;)
Facts are facts.. You just don't see them the same way I do... nor do we seem to be on the same side on most issues. .
So its okay for you..but not for me..to side with my own kind?
Explain the difference?
And for the record..I am a lot of things..but I am FAR FAR from a hypocrite..
What I am right now is tolerant .. but that is growing real thin.
Good post Teresa, once again your wisdom and common sense comes through. This Forum could not have survived as long as it has without someone like you and Kjell in charge. You are appreciated. Keep on keeping on.

LOL Amen Teresa. I think the good rev James Manning did a sermon warning his parishioners that tthe white folks are all out of tolerance these days.
I LOVE Rev. Manning! He cracks me up every time I listen to him!!
I don't mean to "Lord and Master" over anyone in here. The bottom line though is if you want people to know how you feel then post it..If you have Liberal views and the majority readers are Conservative.. then expect to be challenged and never expect to be agreed with.
The same goes for the other side of the coin too.
I would never expect a Liberal to agree with me. ( They actually should because I am right).. ;) ;D
But .. I will hang in there with guns blazing stating my beliefs because I "believe" them. The same as the "other side does. .. ( I like to call them "the Dark Side"... * with scary music after it* ;D )
Annnnddddd...sometimes I can talk some sense into their heads.. LOL
Seriously... it just seems like the world is pandering to the Liberals because they cry and whine the loudest.. and instead of getting in there and whipping some ass and cracking some heads (figuratively speaking) they prefer to stomp their feet and scream for the government to take care of them.. and while we're at it.. lets take care of every other Tom, Dick, Pedro and Rahiuem in the whole world.. >:(
That's just one example of why this bird flies with the same feathered birds.. :)
What surprises me is that the liberals still come in and whine and cry. Sheesh when my kids used to whine and cry i would flip em a quarter and tell em to call someone who cares.
who are the whiners? Look at post after post of right wing fools complaining on these forums. Look at the topics, I didn't get my COLA, whine. The government did this, whine. Some dude got his kids taken away, whine. Obama raised taxes (a lie btw) whine. Lets blame democrats for the mess caused by republicans, whine. Oh no, someone disagrees with you, lets call him names, insult him, and then whine some more.
please, hypocrites, get a life. ::)

Like I said~~~~~ Look who's calling the Kettle black... :)
This is intended to be a neutral question so don't read anything into it...Is there a chance that the Repubs. are overselling how much they are promising to "fix'' if they take back back Congress? There is a lot more to it when you take into consideration the power and influence of the lobbyists ,wall street, banks, huge pharmaceutical companies and moneyed individuals. By the way, right now I have two political signs in my front yard. One is for a a Democrat, the other is for a Republican. I have always voted the person and the issues, not the sell jobs done by the media or anyone else who has money to make from all this political rhetoric. I'm getting really tired of the half truths, half bricks and lies told by both sides, and it will not be over next Tuesday.
I'm still waiting for CO to address the real topics of the day. Illegal aliens, paying for the wars, or trying to end them. HER take on cap and trade. ( Coons was attacked, but what about her view? Our wind farms. We got off to a good start, but it stalled. What will she do to improve schools? HOW? If she insists on lowering taxes, what programs will be cut, and why won't lowered taxes add to the country's deficit. Will she refuse the influence of the old line party members and lobbyists? Does she agree with unlimited money being allowed to fund campaigns from any source, including hidden money from outside the country? What will they expect in return? That money won't be unencumbered. How will she bring jobs back from overseas? Will she try to stop our country from being sold to other countries such as China? She wants to pursue new oil drilling off Delaware's coast. How will she make sure a % of the profit from it stays for Delaware and the oil is not just sold to the highest bidder somewhere else in the world. If Alaska can do it so should we! What is her view on guns and gun control?
I have more but that's a good start. She has worn out the Bible and God and country and abortion business. We all know how she feels about them....what about the rest?
CO doesn't have a chance of winning the seat according to the polls.
As much as I hate to say it.. I think she is kind of an idiot.
She is beautiful, she is appealing, but she seems to lack knowledge or at least the verbal skills to show she does.
If I had to choose between two idiots--I'd choose the pretty one !!!

In this case I would choose the one most likelty to vote against Obama's agenda, the Republican. I have never heard so many people say thay are going to vote a straight Republican ticket. Hopefully the Republicans can control both the House and the Senate and shut down Adolph Obama.
The problem is that voting EITHER way is going to result in the same outcome. Bigger gov't, higher taxes, loss of even more freedoms, continued erosin of the constitution, and the general downward sprial of our country.

*quote*
On the most basic level, the last two years have been nothing short of an economic disaster. Not so much the continued meltdown of the housing market or even the two point increase in the unemployment rate. Nope.... the disaster that has befallen the country is entirely manmade, and that man is none other than Barack Obama.
By passing ObamaCare, hugely increasing federal regulation of .. and intervention in ... the economy, and by laying the groundwork for higher taxes, President Obama has removed the one element that businesses need to begin investing in the future, hiring and spurring economic growth: Without knowing what the future holds in terms of regulation or taxes... they can't build a business, period.
The yoke the President has placed around the necks of citizens and businesses is simply too heavy a burden for a slight adjustment of course to fix. A little moderation will not turn around the economy or the public's state of mind. Dramatic change is necessary and the process could be wrenching. Not that voters will necessarily know where the blame should lay given the mainstream media's vested interest in keeping the Democrats and Obama in power. Nonetheless if Republicans want to regain the White House in 2012 and build a working majority in Congress, they are going to have to demonstrate bold leadership and make a clear argument for what they want to accomplish.
Hopefully~~They will get their chance starting in January. Rather than muddle through and just stop President Obama from doing further damage to the economy and the Nation, the Republicans should instead take advantage of the somewhat unprecedented attention that Americans are giving to governance in general and the economy in particular to clarify what they stand for. They should put forth bills as if a Republican were sitting in the Oval Office, fiscally responsible bills that clearly demonstrate their priorities. President Obama would no doubt veto them, but doing so would lead to a discussion of the merits of the policies.
Fundamentally, Republicans should (regardless of whether they control one house or two) vow to only pass bills that demonstrate fiscal discipline and foster pro growth policies. Their budget bill should cut all discretionary funding back to 2004 or 2006 levels and refuse to pass anything that exceeds those levels. They should pass legislation rescinding ObamaCare and bills that explicitly limit the scope of agencies such as the EPA, the FCC and others, and they should slash the budgets of regulation heavy Departments such as Education and Energy. President Obama would no doubt veto virtually every one of those bills, and as the White House suggested on Saturday, that might result in a shut down of the government like 1995.
But 2011 is not 1995 and Americas will no longer allow themselves to be so easily hoodwinked. Whereas in 1995 the electorate looked askance at the government shutdown and largely blamed Newt Gingrich for it, in 2011 after two years in the death grip of the Democrats, Americans may indeed welcome a government shutdown as an opportunity to debate the very nature of government itself. That is a debate Republicans can win if they stand by their conservative principles and let men like Paul Ryan, Jim DeMint and Marco Rubio make the case to the American electorate. They may not win all of the battles, but by fighting the good fight they can demonstrate to the American electorate that when they go to the polls in 2012 there is a very clear alternative to a reheated "Hope and Change" agenda.
Right, because the current economic crisis started the day BO took office and republicans had nothing to do with it..... Do you really believe that the republicans didnt have a hand in whats going on? Are you blind to the tax incentives to corporations who offshore jobs? Were your eyes closed when both repubs and dems signed all those free trade agreements? Did you ever wonder why we were in wars all over the world and not paying for them?
NO... I'm not blind.. Politics and Washington have always been corrupt~ but......................
In walks this unknown guy with no executive experience and minimal experience in elected office ...who said he was going to heal the country and who hornswaggled and got half the country to believe him .....selling his "hope and change" dog and pony show.
But the fact is.... He was and still is a pathetic and petty incompetent. He's an entry-level president who's never held an honest job nor created or accomplished anything constructive and of value in his entire coddled, radicalism-saturated life. Why he wasn't immediately sent back to his Marxist clique in Chicago-town is beyond me.
ahhh~~ but the question was~~~ "Do I think ALL the problems were started with what we have in there now?"
No.. of course not.. Not started...but they sure have escalated and went over the top with this administration.
We have in office the first president in living memory that hates America..((( his 20 year attendance at the Marxist oriented, White hating, Black Liberation Theology church of the Rev. Jeremiah "God Damn America" Wright....kinda proves that.))) and the Congress now in office are the most blatantly and openly corrupt since the era after the civil war and have done more damage to this country already than any other President to date. .
This man has no core or roots in the United States of America.., so he seeks to deprive us of ours.
America had always been a solid and somewhat predictable commodity, both domestically and internationally.... but Carter and a Democratic Congress with Watergate ( the betrayal of South Vietnam and Cambodia) started the tearing down of the US as a "solid and somewhat predictable commodity".
Soooo.. what Carter started... Obama has kicked it in high gear and seems to be trying to finish.
I have heard lots and lots of times that Obama is an incompetent ideologue who set staggering records for empty promises and hollow rhetoric.
I agree on the incompetent part.. but the empty promise thing has me thinking outside the box. .
Think about it..
I think that Obama is doing exactly what he said he was going to to and getting exactly what he wants. As far as our Military is concerned.. he is a disgrace and his foreign policy is despicable. It insults our allies and embraces dictators.. making them more bold which fails to scare Iran in the least.
Before ...allies would remain allies.. and when the chips were down we would defend them. Enemies would remain enemies.. even if we sometimes got closer to them and sometimes backed away from contact. We never empowered our enemies.. Never bowed to them and never coddled them.
We would get into debt,.. but basically our economy was solid. And so on and so forth.
But Obama has become a loose cannon. Apologizing tor America.. bowing to dictators...seeming to have one thing in his mind...and that is to manage our decline and help us to get there as fast as we can.. and of course help China get stronger.
Big welfare and social programs that will require huge cuts in defense spending. (the point no one seems to get about health care costs ~~ he will manage the costs by cutting defense, that's part of the goal with big public health care) This is his goal.. and he's doing it slowly and getting there.
He told our trading partners that America will no longer be the engine of global growth... that we will no longer import and consume as we have in the past. He is removing future options by burning up our capital... sticking his hands in the private sector's participation in the economy... ramping up the deficit and saddling us and the next generations with financial burdens that we can not even comprehend.
He has spent MORE money than any President in our history!
Look around....The results of his agenda is already having a decline in our standard of living.... higher unemployment ...and slow European style Socialism growth. ( Ask my husband who came from it 6 years ago.. He sees it more every day happening here slowly and surely.)
We are now a nation whose government has NATIONALIZED two-thirds of a major industry. That is not something that happens in a free, capitalist society. To the best of my knowledge.. it's not even something that happens in Socialist countries. It is something that happens in a nation that is taking its final steps from increasing socialism into out-and-out communism. We're not there yet... but we've come further in the past year than at any time in our history.
Every step that this country has taken down the staircase called socialism away from the freedom of its founding principles and towards the tyranny of communism has been irreversible.
Now we're taking irreversible steps three at a time!!!
On the negative side...I think much of what he's doing is going to be irrevocable.
In the past our wealth and military strength could compensate for a poor President and bring us back to some sort of equilibrium. But now, with our ballooning deficits, I don't know if we have the margin to pull out of this tailspin without the wings coming off.
On the other positive hand..... Some things might still be reversible if we get a new Congress....IF Health Care reform isn't passed... IF cap & trade fails to pass in the Senate.... and IF amnesty isn't granted to millions of illegals. ...and IF we can stop brainwashing children in schools with progressive indoctrination.
Lots of ifs.
We will be a long while trying to get the stink out of our nation from this administration and Congress..and its going to take a very strong willed next American President to return the country to something like what we were before.
OK Teresa, now that you have skirted around the issue, tell us what you really feel about the current Washington mess. LOL. You go girl. And just what are you doing up at 3:19 in the morning? Anyway, I did my duty, I voted early for those who I hope can have even a little influence on the current affairs inside the Beltway. What we all need is a good relaxing massage.
Great Post Teresa, you do have a way with words.
Teresa, that was an excellent post...However, I think you missed one critical point. That is the mindset of the people that elected the SOB and his followers in the first place. The "want something for nothing" crowd, which unfortunately, makes up quite a large segment of our population, and their numbers grow everyday. People say they can't find a job, I say bullshit! They just can't find the job they want. People still continue to live outside their means. Until we fix this problem we will still be in the same boat we are in today. Doesn't matter whose in office.
Do any of you realize that Obama has actually reduced the budget deficit?

No he hasn't. he's added 5 trillion to the debt. Secondly he hasn't even passed a budget yet. There is no reduction. for 2010 yet its remaining unchanged from last years budget.
to reduce the budget he would have to lower the budget from 2009 figures.
Obama became president in January 2009.
In October 2008, the national debt stood at $10.4 trillion. That same month the budget deficit stood at $407 billion.
In October 2010, the national debt stands at $13.6 trillion. The budget deficit stands at $1.3 trillion.

Jarhead, no I never said I went to basic training, it was part of a long post that was supposed to be humorous. You may recall I mentioned that i was in training for the world cup, i won the lotto, some other BS. Sorry if humor isn't really something that you understand easily, I'm pretty gullible too. (but not so gullible that i still vote republican after they screw us all constantly)
Anmar,
Oh yea, I understand humor and I also know when someone tells a big fibber. I believe if you read below you will find on Jan.24, that you told WARPH you went to boot camp.
Then on May 31 you posted your "humorous post" saying you were training for the World Cup . That's a tad over 4 months between the two post so could you explain it so I can "understand it easily" ?
Jarhead

I stopped posting for several reasons, being
1. I got busy with other things, I'm a small business owner and things have been really picking up
2. I did some travelling on a top secret CIA mission
3. Someone said something about trying to teach pigs to sing, I think that was somewhat relevant, however it should be noted that at one point, a large number of people read the politics forum, yet did not post. I often posted for the sake of providing a different point of view other than the right wing extremists and fundamentalists that frequent this forum. As readership has fallen off, there was less incentive for me to post.
4. I've been training for the upcoming world cup
5. I've been appointed as the czar of deregulation, my job is to make the USA the most deregulated country in the world, right above Somalia, because its working so great for them.
6. I don't really have a reason here, but everyone is posting lists, and I can't let people post lists longer than mine, so I have to fluff it up a little bit. Can you believe that Israel attacked a peace convoy in international waters? $10 says that we veto any UN security resolution calling for an investigation.
7. Trying to get into a PhD program.
That is all.
Thanks Waldo for the facts.

Really?? How?
I'd kinda like to know the answer to that one too...................... ???
I love hearing a Democrat screaming about "Bush left us the largest deficit in history".
I always make sure they hear my comment , "Yes, and the Magic Muslim tripled that in his first 30 days".
And now we are hearing that Obama has reduced? REDUCED?? the budget deficit?
hahahahaa~~~ Seriously?? You actually can say that with a straight face?
He has virtually destroyed the US as an economic super-power... devastated the US dollar... and transferred huge sums of wealth from many of us~ to foreigners, unions and the uber-wealthy.
Tax increases start Jan. 1, 2011....Possible mortgage interest and tax deductions, as well as, dependent deductions~~ possibly GONE...
Taxes go up, means more revenue....for them to keep spending...
Just read a piece that reported that "federalizing" private retirement funds; 402k and IRA funds would be diverted to the SS fund...and from there to where ever they want to spend the money....
Uhhh yeah..... He sure has reduced the deficit. ::)
Hmmm,.....a week and still no answer. Not suprising really.
