As you know, Senator Derek Schmidt is the Senator that represents our county. His web site is http://www.derekschmidt.com/ I would recommend that you take time and look through his web site. He has a survey on his web site asking our opinions about building more prisons in Kansas or should we go with private prisons or should we release early. Please take the time to fill out the survey. I noticed that lots of people have submitted their vote from Montgomery, but very very few from Elk. I have great respect for Senator Schmidt and believe that he does the best that he can for our county.
