Title: Cherry Coke Salad

Sent in by Amanda Sutton of Independence, Kansas

20 oz. can crushed pinapple
1/2 cup water
2   3 oz. pkgs. cherry gelatin
21 oz can cherry pie filling
3/4 cup Coke (or cherry coke)

Drain pineapple, reserving juice, set fruit aside.  In a saucepan or microwave, bring pineapple juice and water to  a boil.  Add gelatin; stir until dissolved.  Stir in pie filling and cola.  Pour into a serving bowl.  Refrigerate until slightly thickened.  Fold in reserved pineapple.  Refrigerate until firm.

I am thrilled to see this recipe.  My mother made this for me as a special treat. It was my favorite.  She has been gone many years and I have thought so many times, how I would love some of that but didn't have a clue what it was called. We'll see if Even I can make it.  ;D
