Almost, not quite or a little less than?
My great grandmother was a Librarian in Cowley county long ago. She is responsible for my reading habits. I would say that of the three choices, almost is the most. However, more than Almost is Nearly, and then Well Nigh is probably the closest you can come to having a complete whole.
Some say that the phrase "almost but not quite" implies that not quite is more than almost, but I think that certain usage of words has changed over the years to alter meanings.
Another argument that someone can use is that the words used the least often are more likely to be the most. I'd have to ask my neighbor, she would know.
I'm house sitting and I'm pretty bored.... so yeah....
