. ''Kansas law (K.S.A. 75-4318) provides that citizens can obtain notification of all regular & special meetings 
of public bodies & boards. You are also entitled to receive advance copies of any agendas prepared for 
those meetings. These should be available to you without charge. But you must ask! 

The person responsible for complying with your requests is the presiding officer of the board, body or 
':""commission (chairman, president, etc). 

'.Aiiached is a pre-printed letter you can use to exercise your right to know. While this request applies only 
' .: : "~::;'. to the local county commission, you can also use this format to request notices & agendas for other public 
. bodies as well (i.e. school boards, city counsels, state boards & commissions, etc.).

To be sure your request is received, it is recommended that you mail your request by certified mail, return 
receipt requested (your post office can help) . 

YOU CAN NOT BE REFUSED THESE REQUESTS. 

This is step one. If you can, it's always best to attend meetings when they happen.
