Teddy Leroy Signer, age 73, passed away at home on May 12, 2026.  Born on January 24, 1953 in Eureka, Kansas to C. Eugene and Mary Louise (Miller) Signer, Ted lived a life defined by hard work, perseverance, faith, and unwavering love for his family.

Ted's strong work ethic began early in life.  As a child and throughout his teenage years, he worked hard alongside his family on the farm in Kansas, learning the values of dedication, responsibility, and perseverance that would shape the rest of his life.  As a young man, he also found joy in music and spent time playing in a band before eventually leaving Kansas in 1979 to pursue new opportunities in Texas.

Ted carried an adventurous spirit and a heart full of dreams.  After arriving in Texas, he discovered a love for the sea and worked as a boat captain, a career that reflected both his independence and his passion for adventure.  Throughout his life, he took pride in every role he held, including worked as a licensed limousine driver and later serving as Lead Security for Harris Health where he was respected for his leadership, loyalty , and strong presence. 

In 1982, Ted settled in Houston, Texas where he later met his devoted wife, Modesta.  Together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, love, and family.  He loved fiercely and completely. He was a provider, .protector, storyteller, and dreamer whose strength and love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.  He will be remembered for his resilience, humor, adventurous soul, and the deep pride he had for his family. 

Ted is lovingly survived by his wife of 32 years, Modesta Sighner; his daughters, Alisha (Joseph) Jiminez and Danielle (Boomer) Blackmon; his son, Teddy N. (Sarah) Signer; his stepchildren, Charmaine (Alan) Andico and Jeffrey Andico; her cherished grandchildren, Saul, Elijah, Bella, Chynelle, Brysen, Rylea, and Rylan; one precious newborn great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, his beloved Aunt Sue; and his Uncle Dan who will continue to honor his memory along with his loyal furry companion, Wilson, who rarely left his side.  He was preceded in death by his father, C. Eugene Signer; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Nick Buck; and his brothers, Lyle Signer and Dennis Signer.

In accordance with his wishes, Ted will be cremated in Houston, Texas and later returned home for burial at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas at a later date.  Miller Funeral and Cremation Services of Houston, Texas have been entrusted with arrangements.  Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millerfuneral.com.
