It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Lou (Yarborough) Romans, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on July 14, 2025 at the age of 91 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri.

Born on October 16, 1933 in West Plains, Missouri, Betty lived a life defined by grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.  She spent her days nurturing her loved ones, sharing her wisdom, and embodying compassion in every word and action.

Betty was known for being caring, resourceful, and generous, as well as for making hundreds of quilts.  At least three of these were registered with the Kansas Historical Society.  She also made delicious homemade meals, cakes, pies, and Rice Crispy treats.  Betty was very involved in the Moline Christian Church and the community of Moline, Kansas whether attending services, serving meals, coordinating the community food pantry and more.  She enjoyed playing Pitch with friends and family and had fond memories of working at the free thrift store named Bloomingdale's .  Betty's presence was a source of comfort and joy, and her legacy will live on through those she touched.

Betty is survived by her son, Jesse Romans; her grandchildren, Dan, Jack, Kaci, James, Joshua, and Emmanuel; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews and other close relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Thomas and Lucy Rebecca (Woods) Yarborough; siblings, Henry, Hazel, John, George, and Dorothy; her husband, Granville McArthur "Art" Romans; and her sons, Jacky and James.

A Celebration of Life for Betty will be scheduled in the fall.  Friends and family are welcome to attend and honor the beautiful life she led.  Thought she is no longer with us in body, Betty's spirit lives on in every recipe passed down, every family gathering, and every warm memory.  We will hold her close in our hearts forever.  Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home of Osceola, Missouri has been entrusted with arrangements.
