Almira Anne Kling, age 95, passed away on November 7, 2020 in Overland Park, Kansas.  She was born on June 28, 1925 in Lenawee County, Michigan, the daughter of Arnold and Lillian (Petsch) Miller.

Following high school, Anne moved to Howard, Kansas where her future husband, Harold Kling, had recently returned from World War II.  On November 15, 1945, Anne and Harold were married.  Together they farmed and raised their five children near Howard.  In spite of a busy family to raise, Anne went to work in the Howard Abstract Office.  She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary and served as leader/sponsor multiple years to revive the Paw Paw Lucky Clovers 4-H Club.

In 1976, the family moved to El Dorado, Kansas to be closer to Harold's job in Wichita, Kansas.  Anne worked in the Claims/Filing Department at Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado.  In retirement, she made good use of her talents.  She was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Women and served many years as circle leader, was a strong member of the quilting guild, and volunteered countless hours in various projects of the First United Methodist Church to help others.  She also enjoyed painting and gardening.  Anne was strong in her faith and her love for her family.

The much-beloved mother will be missed by her children, William "Bill" (Marina) Kling of The Woodlands, Texas, Deborah (Kim) Myers of Louisburg, Kansas, Michael (Ann) Kling of Anacortes, Washington, and James (Debra) Kling of Brighton, Michigan; her daughter-in-law, Jean Kling of Leawood, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.  Anne is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; and her son, John R. "Jack" Kling.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas.  Memorial contributions in Anne's name may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, 421 W. Central, El Dorado, Kansas 67042 or to the Courtt's Art Museum, 110 N. Main, El Dorado, Kansas 67042.  Condolences for the family may be left at
