I would've swore there was a Happy Thanksgiving thread already started by Teresa (since she's excited by all the food) but I can't find it anywhere. I would just like to tell you all that I hope you have a happy day tomorrow and remember to count your blessings all year long!
I'm home from work today, so will start some of the cooking afterwhile. This is our favorite holiday usually. We don't have many guests but the one that we do have is my mother. This year she will be spending her Thanksgiving down at Jane Phillips but I do thank the good Lord that she is still with us. She was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in January and it's been a very hard road all year. We have just got her to move up here to Longton this past week to be closer to my family and we were all looking forward to a good ole fashioned Thanksgiving this year! So now I will have to make the sweet potatoes (which I've never made) and try not to mess them up too bad. She makes the most wonderful sweet potatoes!!
I would appreciate your continued prayers for my mama tho. She really needs them and so do we.
Anyway, again, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!!

I will use Jennifer's thread to wish all of my forum friends a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY.  Even though you may think that you have nothing to really be thankful for, stop and think about it.  Your shelter and food, your family and friends, your freedom, your health, no matter what condition it is in you are alive.  There are so many little things that God has given you, please don't forget to thank him for his many many blessings in your life,.
MY GOAL IS TO LIVE FOREVER. SO FAR, SO GOOD !

Amen Flo.. and Jen~~ You know your mama is on my healing prayer and strength list..
I hope all who have to travel get to and from their destinations safely.. Don't text..and don't gawk around when you are driving..
And don't forget to eat until you have to undo your britches.. ( That is my goal.)  ;D
Happy Thanksgiving to all~~

((I DID have a cute Thanksgiving card on here but when I was inside the computers "clothes"  in the wee hours of the morning~~updating and moving and switching things around.. I accidentally removed it. ...
((what can I say~~ sometimes I 'm just a real blonde))  :'(

Jen, I wondered where my new neighbor was and I am so sorry she is ill and dealing with cancer.
I had stage iv cancer in 2003 and spent easter and about 7 weeks in Kansas City going through the radiation and chemo
therapy and then the next month in Topeka, cause I had to go back and forth to KC for checkups and my exhaustion just
could not handle driving back to Longton and then back up there. Thank God for family. They took me in and took me to KC and that made it so much easier.

I am glad your mother has you. I will keep her and you all in my prayers. I hope to meet her when she comes back and
God willing she will and I will.

To all of you have a great turkey day. I was heading up to Topeka, but Monday my pet-sitter was put in hospital for kidney shut down........he is better today, but still in hospital and my dogs and cats need to be indoors and I can't leave them in house unsupervised...and did not have time to make reservation with Doc Black. (really can't afford it either)
So, I will be here unless something else happens.
God bless you all and do count your blessings.
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

Let me add my good wishes to all on the forum.  After years and years of hosting festivities and dinners at our house, the last few have been with our children at their houses.  This year will be very quiet.  Our daugther and her family will be having dinner with his family and our son and his family are in San Francisco for the weekend.  Perhaps on Sunday when everyone is home, we will have a small get-together.  In fact, as I type, there is a woman here who is interested in buying our dining table and chairs.  I can't remember the last time we actually used it for dinner.  A move is underway to rearrange furniture and the dining table is not in the picture.  However, my good wishes for a wonderful holiday for all of you.

HELP!  I'm talking and I can't shut up!

I came...  I saw...  I had NO idea what was going on...

Our best wishes to all too. Tomorrow is also Al's birthday so we'll be celebrating that too. Just us this year though. Al's sister and brother in law left for Arizona for good on the 18th. They have a condo in Fountain Hills and their two kids live in AZ too, so we have no family close by any more. I'll cook the turkey and the usual stuff and stick some candles in Al's pumpkin pie. Kind of lonely though.

Wishing everyone on the Forum and great Thanksgiving with lots of loving family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  Our kids were here tonight for dinner, and we have stuffed ourselves supremely!  Tomorrow will be a relaxing day for us as one son will be working and the other will be with his wife's family.  We stay flexible and cherish times when we can all be together.  We have so much to be thankful for.  Blessings to all!!!!!
