Double loop flap holster

[Books OToole]

I picked this up this unique specimen at the recent S&WCA symposium. It fits a S&W New Model 3.

  Hey Hey Hey Books

I ain't a leather worker by any means, but that is one right swell holster.  I would venture to say it would be worth some of the Forum's stalwart hide slicers to consider a pattern for it.  Heck, I'd be tempted to score a New Model # 3 to have something to put innit.  Might even fit one of my longer barrel conversions.  Just Might.

That is a work of art with craftsmanship and attention to detail.
any Idea to the Maker or period ?

[Coffinmaker]

I betcha atz enough to make Graveyard Jack DROOL indeed    Fine scabbard for an Open Top or Long Barrel Conversion you betcha!!

Yeah, Echo the Major, any indication who made it??  Weak and feeble minds be curious.

The is no discernible maker's mark. John Witty, the author of Holstery (holster history) examined it. He was impressed but found no mark.

That's a nice score. It certainly is done well. Congrats on finding that one. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Is that a Sam Browne button at the toe?

Looking at the tooling and the lacing vs stitching could it be R. T. Frazier?  The tooling sort of places it around 1900+.
