I honestly don't know if anyone here has interest in bayonets.  :-\
I mean it is a Cowboy Forum after all, but this is the Cutting-Edge portion on the forum.
I post this as my attempt to keep the Forum active.

So, here goes  :P

The latest addition to my bayonets is pointy, not sharp and a War time production from a then American Co. at its Scotland manufacturing facility.

ORIGINAL SCOTTISH MADE WWII SPIKE BAYONET W/ SCABBARD-FITS NO. 4 LEE ENFIELD RIFLES
**********************************************************************
Original British WWII Spike Bayonet complete with scabbard made to attach to the No. 4 British .303 rifle.
This is the 2nd pattern of spike bayonet and was forged from one solid piece of steel.
Markings are almost non-existent on this piece but the maker's mark "N 67" is stamped on the latch plunger face (see photo) which do show that it was made in Scotland at the Singer Manufacturing Co. in Clydebank and must be a No. 4 Mk II as this facility only made that version of the spike bayonet and the earlier rare cruciform Mk1.
This facility made approximately 1,141,782 No. 4 Mk. II bayonets from 1942–1944.
There is a small crude stick-type "arrowhead" stamped on the left side of the latching mechanism which could be a viewer's (inspector's) mark of some sort.
The scabbard is complete with the zinc-alloy mouthpiece (bushing) intact along with the spring retainer which holds the inserted spike.

If just one person enjoyed this, I'm grateful  :)

 :) Hey Major 2 ;)

I actually do have a passing interest in bayonets since I carried one around for about bit.

That round, pokey Scottish Spike is right interesting, however I would also be some interested in the Cruciform version.

The historic old tin Type of the Singer plant is also righteous interesting!!

Major 2

Here is a Mk1 Singer Cruciform it's not mine  :(

Singer Manufacturing Co. in Clydebank, Scotland made 75,000 No.4 MK I's in 1941.
The 1,141,782 No. 4 Mk. II bayonets were produced from 1942–1944.

I do have Berdan II Imperial Russian Cruciform

and French cruciform trench sticker made from a broken Lebel 1896 bayonet

Love seeing your collection. Love all things bladed.  I was several years into cowboy shooting before guns outnumbered swords in my house (have since divested myself if many of then).  Never had a bayonet but may need one.

Thank you, Gents, for the comments.
as long as I'm not out in left field then, I'll continue to post my finds.

OK, Major 2, you got me curious about my own Lee-Enfield bayonet.  I bought it separately from my rifle and I don't know what most of these markings mean.  Some of them I can't even make out; in fact at least one of these might just be damage and not a marking at all.  I'm not sure if the sheath is original to the bayonet.  Can you tell me anything about this (if not, that's OK--it's just an idle curiosity at this point)?  I haven't done any online searching yet either, but I can try that first if you'd prefer.

Thanks!

* Your Spike Bayonet is a #4 Mk 2 (SM) - Singer Manufacturing Co. in Clydebank made Bayonet in 1943. Singer produced 1,141,782 No. 4 Mk. II bayonets from 1942–1944.

* The second knife blade is a #9 Mk.1
Look for Circled P for Royal Ordnance Factory, Poole from 1947–1949

or "ED", followed by a two-digit year of manufacture for Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield.
I have one marked ED 54 = 1954

"PF" serialized No. 9 Mk. I bayonets were packed with post-war Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifles produced at the ROF Fazakerly

there were these Private contractors as well

• G. Buggins & Co. Ltd. of Redditch.
• Francis & Barnett Ltd. of Coventry.
• Byfords Ltd. of West Bromwitch.

Thanks! It's not exactly old west, but I'm finding this discussion valuable!

I took a closer look at the markings on the knife bayonet. It appears that it was made in Pakistan on British tooling.

The majority of No. 9 Mk I bayonets were made in Britain, small quantities were also produced by private contractors in the UK and by manufacturers like yours in Pakistan and South Africa.

I considered a new thread but decided I put it here.
Because this is actually the "old west" Cutting Edge Forum.

Saint George, if you feel it is inappropriate I'll delete it.

PAL
US WW2 Pal RH-35 (Mk1)- RH-37 (Mk2) Navy USN Fighting Knife & Scabbard
and the WW2 & Korean War RH-36 Fighting Knife & Scabbard.

You just might have one laying around, if you do you have a valuable collectible.
Values range from a paltry $25 for PH-36 without original scabbard.
to several hundred for mint Mk1 or Mk 2 with an original NAVY marked, Boyt leather scabbard or the Nord 8114 B.M.Co. Resin scabbard.

I have added a Spanish Modelo 1893/13 Mauser Bayonet Artilleria FCA Nacional Toledo updated version of the Spanish M1893 bayonet.
Its seen heavy use, but is all overall fair to good condition and it was a bargain @ $25
