 :) Bob ;)

Only able to find one by Jim Brown.  Two Hundred Eighty Five bucks.

Black River Smith

Coffinmaker,

Go to website from his link, then to the 'On-of-a-kind' -- 'Make An Offer' -- 'Antique and Collectibles'  Box (Center box in top row),  Click on it.  Goes to a second page of guns, holster, statues...etc.  Go to the second row; the third (3rd) item; from the left (or the center item).  A set of converted Rem 1858's for $2500.

BRS, it's not a set, it's just one gun.  Nice one, too!

You are correct.  I don't know why I thought it was a 'set of'.  Maybe the side by side photos at fast glance.  But, I now see the photos are just both sides of the revolver in one frame.

AI shows
Master Gunsmith Jim Brown (Albright Firearm Service – Nationally Recognized)
Key takeaway: This Jim is a nationally recognized Master Gunsmith with 38+ years of bench experience, specializing in custom rifles, handguns, restoration, machining, and Cerakote.

I'm something of a skeptic I wonder if the gun in question is legit. :-\

$2500 is large nut for Pietta Re·dux
Or if the above Jim Brown built the conversion at all.  :-\
I can imagine a scammer use AI to find vague custom gunsmith to sell a conversion with possible credentials...something in the RL Millington, Ken Howell, or John Gren desirable range.    ???

Major 2 you could be on to something.....

Coffinmaker

:) Major 2 is always on to something (snicker snicker snicker) and in this case I have to be in his "skeptic team corner."  The only "big deal" with this Remington Conversion (I found it) is the Long Cylinder.

The Long Cylinder conversions weren't all that unusual back then, today not so much.  Considering the price of the Donor, the cost to make the 5 chamber long cylinder, the de-farb and re-finish, I might expect 12 hundred to be reasonable (but high).  $2500 on the other hand, is way beyond reasonable.  More like highway robbery (seller needs a Balaclava).

Since the purported maker is relatively obscure, the sample example is actually ho-hum.  Consider, the cost of the Donor, a Kirst converter (or Howell), your only in for about $700.  Add the conversion and incidental labor and a grand or eleven hundred seems reasonable.

Sorry, Ima NO SALE on this one.

Abilene

Well ya know that link to the guns on River Junction's website does say in real big letters: "Make An Offer"  :D

I've seen other guns there that are way too high.  Gotta start somewhere. ;)

:) Most certainly Abilene.  River Junction (use to shoot at a CAS Club named River Junction) does give the option of "Make An Offer."  However,

In my case, I don't like Remingtons.  Like Sam Colt, I ain't enamored with "Them Strap Guns."

You know what?  Neither did I, until I won a pair of stainless 5.5" Piettas  :) , and liked them so much I bought the pair of 5.5" Uberti conversions  ;D

Howsomever, my faves are still the Colts conversions.  ;D

I got a Uberti Factory Remington 45 conversion in trade, not long after they were first offered some years back.
Nice gun but it beat my finger when fired.
I'm with you guys my favorites are the Colt Richards conversions.

 >:( YOWZA YOWZA  :(

Every Remington I ever tried to play with just beat the bejabbers outta my social finger.  They downright HURT and they are a mite difficult to "tune up"

Don't get me completely wrong, I did/do like the looks of Abilene's stainless Remmies, but I Personally couldn't shoot 'em fer beans.

Believe I mentioned being in Sam Colt's camp.  "Can't abide them Strap Guns" and Colt conversions and the Open Top ar my Faves.
