Is anybody familiar with this era of Winchester Super X ammo?

I got these at a local gun shop sold as new old stock. I am trying to find out if these are hollow base because I read that Winchester used to use hollow base bullets in their 45 Colt. I would just like to know so that I can compare their accuracy to current ammo.

Most likely they are a shallow hollow base. Back in the day when a person could get Winchester and Remington bulk bullets, they were cup based.

Looks like a box from the 1990's. If it is hollow based it is very shallow and the bullet will probably measure .454". This is not "heel based" ammo, it is a swaged bullet that likely goes around 700 feet per second.

Nor is it a Black Powder load.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

RoyceP

Must be reloads cause the box does not say anything about black powder.

Thanks for the answers. It's not black powder, it's smokeless and it does look like factory ammo to me. I shot all but two rounds. I shot 12 rounds in a S&W Model 25 and it was not more accurate than any other ammo I've shot in that gun. I shot 6 rounds in a USFA Rodeo and it was a bit more accurate than some handloads I've used in it but not dramatically so. I still have two rounds left and I might take one of them apart.

Swaged bullet with a concave base.

That's Winchester's standard 45 colt used for 60 or more years.  Its rated velocity is 860 fps out of a 5 1/2" barrel and traditionally, it clocked close to that.  I would send you a pic of a pulled bullet but for some reason, I cant load pics here.  It is "cupped" at the base, maybe not as much as the Remington bullet, but most likely enough to seal in oversized cylinder throats as like Colt uses.  I know 2 hunters here in Indiana who used a rifle in 45 colt with that ammo and dropped deer dead.  I'm guessing 1150-1200 fps out of a rifle.
