I went to the Las Vegas Collectors show and found this gorgeous 1873 in 22 short. It didn't take long to beat the guy up and walk away with the rifle.

While I was walking down the aisle another dealer offered me $1,000.00 more than I paid for it. you don't find 1873 22 rifles in this condition with a good bore!

It shoots great as well. The target was 25 yards on a concrete bench, resting on my elbow. It is certainly a keeper!

I never considered myself a failure...I started out at the bottom and happen to like it here!

HEY THERE SHRAPNEL :)

Personally, I'd wish for one more photo.  I'd really like to see the inside of the Carrier Block to suss out what Winchester did to make it run 22 Short.
