Over to you Deacon!!

I guess I do not have all my questions answered. While reading and researching, i found a post that said most 12\22 guns were blue, but mine is case color hardened. Is this more rare?

I can't seem to upload a picture of it

Here you go...

I've only seen two in the wild (that is close enough to handle)
both were Case Colored and they were Uberti's

Ser#274xx.  I was told this was a USA built gun. So far it has never even had the cylinder turned and is in 100% condition.

So do you think this is a rare gun? Most of the case colored were Ubertie's? Every time I look at it, I want to shoot it.  I have not figured out why it posted the picture twice. IMG_5675.jpeg

GaryG or Yahoody may see this post and would be better qualified to answer your question on rarity.

A USFA unfired is on a pedestal, IF it's your intent to sell it for max money.

If you plan to heirloom it, well you should at least enjoy what it was meant to be, a shooter.

:) Allow me to digress.  If what you are looking for is something to help fund your retirement, it seems the Unwashed Masses of Collectors out there have driven the prices for USFA well beyond what anyone with sense would be willing to pay.  That being said, you will only find out what it is really worth when you put it up for sale and see what some Rabid Collector is willing to pay.  Asking us to determine the "rarity" or "desirability" is actually just a shot in the dark cause "we" don't really know.  And, by the by, the cylinder was "turned" many times when the sample example was being manufactured.  "Unturned" is a fairy tale.

I have no wish to sell it right now so i am not interested in money value. It is one of those guns that has hung out here for a while and I don't know much about it. I turn more toward my gun Hobby in the winter and have decided I should learn more about this gun. There are not too many forums about USFA Guns, so I was hoping someone here would know production numbers or details about this particular style. I think i bought it 4-5 years ago and kind of forgot about owning it.

Yes, I know the cylinder has been turned. I have even cocked it a couple times to get oil on the parts of the cylinder that weren't accessible.  It was just a reference to no drag marks on the cylinder and it has not been played with.

It could have been ordered that way but I suspect the frame was sent to Turnbull by mistake.  We had a single action where the frame was sent to Turnbull but the guys made a mistake and sent the backstop also.  Maybe the TG also can't remember.  Anyway the gun was sent out with a colorcase BS also.

The guy I bought it from was an extreme USFA collector. He had a bigger caliber that also shot wax bullets with a special cylinder. I wish I would have bought that also. I don't know why,,but over the years it has bothered me a lot that I didn't buy that gun.
