:) Far be for ME ;)

I'm not going to be "Divergent."  I don't know what you want to do with it.  However I the previous owner didn't fix the Short Arbor Syndrome, yule have a bunch of extra work to do. An easier to work on, better choice out of the box is Pietta.  Older Pietta have a rather flimsy Hand Spring, easily replaced with the newer version.  I'd also suggest Slix Shot nipples and an after-market Main Spring for either.  Best Wishes for your endeavor which ever way you choose.

If I can find one I plan to buy Uberti Richard's Type II in .38 and swap the grips ti have a close 61 Navy RM conversion. Will be cheaper then having a 71 Navy colt converted

Not sure because I do not know what used ones go for. At least less then a new one. I am really interested in the grip frame of one. I want to swap it with an Army grip on a Richard's Type II .38. If I could find one for 200 or less would be good.

if Pietta made a Richard's Type II conversion I would think about that. I am trying to getclose as I can to a 61 Navy Colt RM conversion.

If you don't really need the gun, only the grip, I would just offer to swap your Army grip and grip frame for a Navy grip and frame (specify brass if you want brass).  Many shooters prefer the Army grip, and if you don't have any takers here, I bet you'd get some on the SASS forum pretty quick.

 :) Ah Ha!!  ;)

Now that we know what your up to (he he he he), allow me to suggest you peruse eBay for Uberti parts.  Good chance one of the "Breakers" will have grips and frame parts on offer.  Although I would also suggest talking to VTI Gunparts as well as the Cimarron parts folks.

They do but you have to buy individual parts. And last I looked they didn't show the spring in stock

Oh yeah, you also said they don't show the spring in stock.  If you are talking main spring, 1860, 1851, SAA, Model P, Navy/Army, etc all use the same main spring.

As for buying a Transitional model in .38 and trading/changing the grip, just FYI Cimarron has plenty of those in stock right now with the 8" barrel.  If you wanted the 5 1/2" barrel like mine, they don't have any.

Quote from: Abilene on June 22, 2025, 12:24:46 PMThat guy's prices are way too high (including his other listings for backstraps and triggerguards).  He wants $250 for the assembly.  From VTI it would be $179.50 (not squareback).

Agreed I was just pointing out availability, in that eBay was posable source.
No dog in the fight. in fact, one might find a complete gun for $250.
