A while ago I had a chance to use my friend's Garmin chronograph. The Garmin chronograph is really neat. You don't even need to cross the firing line to set it up. Just put it on the bench near the muzzle of your gun and it's good to go.

I was shooting a Miroku-Winchester 1873 with 24" barrel. All of the loads were with the Big Lube Mav Dutch 200 grain bullet.

I did not shoot the same number of shots for each target but it should give at least some data of interest. Here are the averages and then below are the targets with additional info.

1. Four shots with 8.0 grains of Unique averaged 1266 fps.
2. Five shots with 34.8 grains of Swiss 2F averaged 1366 fps.
3. Six shots with 34.3 grains of Schuetzen 3F averaged 1107 fps.

Pretty huge difference in velocity from Swiss to Scheutzen!  But the Scheutzen looked maybe more accurate?  Not sure about size of target.

Maybe that's the difference between 2F and 3F powder?
