Had our first fire of the year on Thursday. Logging company was doing maintenance on the forest road to access a timber plot, and the excavator blew a hydraulic line right next to the turbo. By the time we got there, the excavator had burned itself out, and there was about 20'x20' of smoldering pine needles. Still got some overtime and hazard pay out of it though.

Today's plan is to cull a couple of hens for my mom, then take the offal and try to catch some catfish with my grandma.

65, headed for high 80s.

Chicken day went quick yesterday. Didn't make it out catfishing, but for a decent reason. After finishing with the butchering, my grandma asked if I would be interested in taking "this old gun" she was tired of lugging around. Said "old gun" turned out to be a 1963 Ruger Standard 22lr pistol, in the blued/engraved/walnut grip panel variety. There was a little surface rust, but it cleaned up nicely, and I put about 100 rounds through it yesterday. Talk about a little tack driver, I was shooting cans at 70 yards with it. 

Color me pleased.

I shot a CAS match today, was probably my best match ever. Clean and after bonuses I had 1 stage in low 30's the rest in the 20's. I'm a very happy Cowboy

Had a toothache all weekend and was able to get into the dentist today. Wound up having the tooth pulled [didn't want to mess with root canal] and it was good I didn't go for the root canal as the tooth fell apart while they were working on it! So I had some pudding for dinner so I could take some strong painkiller. Think I'm gonna doze now...

I used Extra Strength Tylenol, and swish salty water.
Stitches dissolved in about 8 days.

Wound up having the tooth pulled

Since moving to Florida in 2018, I've had four teeth pulled. They wanted me to get Implants or Bridges. At my age, I said "no way". The missing teeth are in the back where you can't see them.

Made it to 86 today and humid! Tooth is healing well, so that is a blessing. Came across a Nikon scope the other day and had it mounted on my Savage 270, looks pretty nice. Gonna be hot and wet the next few days.
