80/20 beeswax/olive oil, Lyman 45 lubesizer, .454 die
Winchester Brass
WLP primer
OAL 1.575"
2cc/28 grains 777ffg, bullet seated on powder, very light compression.  Lee Perfect Powder Measure.

20 shots, 924.6 avg fps, 8.4 fps SD, cylinder spins free.

Garmin Xero chronograph.

Fired 20 shots, put chrono away, loaded back up and went looking for armadillos.  Got one.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

Good info. Getting 925 fps off just 28 grains of Tripple 7 shows that it is more powerful than black powder. Tripple 7 should not be compressed. It occured to me that black powder, since it can be compressed, might still beat Tripple 7 in the 45 Colt if you stuff enough powder in the shell.
