I have a Taylor's (Armi Sport) Spencer carbine in .44 Russian that worked wonderfully well for years until the cartridge ramp spring broke. This is an early one that has the original Spencer-style V spring that is no longer available as a replacement part from Armi Sport. I made a new one from an original Spencer V spring but it doesn't appear to have enough tension to allow decent feeding.
Anyway, since you mentioned a "broken/junked" one might be of interest, this one is still in great shape except for that spring, and I believe I still have a second unaltered Spencer V spring as well.
This rifle was my main match rifle for several years of cowboy matches and it still shoots very well, just not as a repeater because of that spring. If you are interested I'd be happy to send pictures and discuss it further.
