Turns out the OP simply kept the guns after agreeing to sell them.   Mind you I offered to meet  the seller and drive 500 miles one way.  I had made it half way there when he sends an email and tells a story of a "estate sell gone bad".

Now he tells me each gun is worth a thousand more than he first asked here.

It is a weird world these days selling guns.   I had offered $5.2K.  Went to the bank and collected the funds which was not easy for me, got in the car  and prepared to finish the deal when the seller sends me an email  telling me the sale was off.  Didn't even have the common courtesy to call and tell me after a number of phone calls prior setting up the transaction.

Bottom line?  He still has the guns. (Or just as likely he never had the guns)   He simply changed his mind.  Far enough.  I value my word and agreements.  Some simply don't.

Some people have no honor.  I once agreed to buy something on Gunbroker for a certain price.  The seller then puts it at buy it now at that price and someone else jumps in and grabs it before I could.  When I called him on it his excuse was "What can I do?"  Obviously, "Man up and tell the other guy it's already sold." didn't occur to him.

Having it in my hand don't mean it is going any where.   It is a pretty tight fist  ;D
I have his real name, his phone and his actual address.  He wouldn't have gone far.   Might have been a wild ride but not my first rodeo 8)

I have a flipfone that does not get email.  If it had been me, I would have driven all 500 miles before finding out.   >:(

Exactly.
And it is damn near what happened.  I'd have a lot more patience with his antics if he had simply called back and cancelled.
