Yeah, it's really a great book. Hard to pick it up without getting inspired to make something.

I know I'm  a bit prejudice, but I love that book.  Might be because I have 17 photos of items from my collection pictured in the book.  When Bill Manns was here to do the photo shoot, he took over 400 pics in 5 hours.  He said it was one of the best photo sessions he did for the book, because I had so many little trinkets  that could be used with the gun leather in each photo.  It was a great time.

Well I don't even do leather work but knew the reputation of the book so I got a copy last year.

That's really interesting. I don't have any items pictured in it but I also love it. It's just a great book.

It was very interesting to watch Bill Manns take the photos.  I made suggestions as to what items I had that would fit the time period of each piece of gun leather he was photographing.  I had a lot of stuff that ended up in each photo.  These pictures were all taken before the age of digital cameras, so everything was shot with a 35mm camera.

I remember the days of 35mm photos and working from proofs. Digital sure has revolutionized that.

I wonder how many hours I have spent with that book. I checked it out from the library so many times that my wife thought that I owned it. When she found out that I didn't, she encouraged me to just buy a copy. I found one with some loose pages for cheap and snapped it up. It's an excellent book.

Great book, going through it again this week, along with Cowboys and Trappings of the Old West. Getting some inspiration.  ;)

Mine is so full of bookmarks it's almost rediculous. I go through it now and then and pull them out and start over.

They can be found on eBay in the $30 range. Of course I can't vouch for the sellers or the condition of the books.

Those prices are up there but if I didn't have one, I'd be tempted. I go through mine every time I think about making another holster.

Yeah, the book gives you great ideas! I thought I was bad about "needing" a new gun, but it seems I am about as bad as the leather to go with them. Never get tired of beautiful leather work, especially a graceful California Slim Jim housing a 51 Navy.

Sometimes you have to just put something on your Amazon wishlist and keep an eye on it. The price will fluctuate as they are bought and more are listed. When I added the McDowell Colt cartridge conversion book to mine it was nearly $300. After a while I caught it at $70 and ordered it.
