Police Positive that needs a hammer
« on: February 10, 2020, 02:38:23 PM »
Well, as stated in a previous post, I have a 32 Police Positve Target pistol with a bad hammer/firing pin. My gunsmith had the gun for over a year, trying to find a hammer. I got a parts gun off of Gunbroker for it. I now have the gun back and it works, at least he says it does. I haven't shot it yet. Hopefully tomorrow. I'd post pictures if I knew how!

Anyone need a 32 Colt Police Positive parts gun, missing a good hammer?

I found one of these cute little .38 S&W Colts in a pawn shop years ago. The only reason that I bought it was that it had a factory lanyard ring. Trivia alert. Gale Davis carried a pair of Police Positives as Annie Oakley on her Saturday morning tv show in a galaxy far far away. The studio hung a pair of ejector rods on them so they ?looked? cowboy. We were so gullible back then. Always thought she was a cutie.

Tornado, If you already reload .38spcl look for a Colt Police Positive Special which has a longer frame and cylinder so it will handle .38 specials. Mine shoots .38S&W or .38-200 which are not just a shortened 38 spcl which complicates things.

Yes, it would definitely be the Police Positive Special.  Did they make these in 3" barrels?
