Incidentally, that screw went into production in 1855 to secure the trigger guard to the new line of minie ball weapons the US adopted and was used in various places on later Springfield longarms up to the M1903. It was also used by the manufacturers to hold the buttplate on to the M1 Carbine.
That little milled wood screw must hold some type of obscure record!
