The worst rifles were the Model 1876
They went out of business, and for good reason. It was poorly made crap from ASM or Palmetto or ....
If you find a used rifle that actually cycles and fires, it is probably because somebody else rebuilt it.
The last guns went on clearance sale at CDN some years ago after Chapparal went out of business.
There are no parts.
There were some great online reviews at first, but it seems these were early built guns and production guns were a crapshoot at best.
There were some very few lucky folks that got a gun that cycled and fired. The rest had problems and Chaparral would not
take returns or make refunds - they kept trying to "fix it" and claimed that "everything was within spec" even when a 45-60 rifle would
chamber a 45-70 ....
