Friend of mine has a little 25 ACP it is Spanish made probably mid 50s or 60s.
see below

Function is quite good, with the exception the firing pin is broken, it is striker fired , and the part is fine.

He would just like to restore it to a shooter ..... however the firing pin & striker parts are unobtainable. We've tried.

So my solution was to mill the nub of the pin flush , drill out a recess hole and insert an piece of drill rod in the correct Diameter and lock in with Red Loctite
...what say you  ?

For the number of shots that are likely to be fired in this type I would do it. This would be for plinking and not for serious work like carrying.

Three alternatives.  If upon meting someone whom you notice is carrying the same gun .... ask if you can "look at it."  Be sure to be carrying a swell concealable take down screwdriver.  PRESTO !! instant new part for yours.

Next, make a drawing of what you need.  Carry the striker and the drawing to your friendly Gun Smith whom is also a machinist.  If your friendly Gun Smith says he has to "send it out" just skip that part and go find your own machinist.

Or,  just drill a receptacle in the striker and using the very drill you used to make the hole make a firing pin you secure with RED LocTite.  I'd personally go for door number three.

Roger,
opinions welcome, so here goes.

I have always preferred crunchy peanut butter over creamy.
Yet crunchy is prone to tear fresh bread, so one must be careful when spreading, no rush job nor late night "fog of sleep" snacking. Also, if unsure, best not to keep it in the refrigerator, although this storage method is de rigueur in our household.

Just a word of warning, - NEVER buy one of those jars of "Natural" Crunchy Peanut Butter, you know the ones where the oil and all that golden goodness have turned their backs to each other and parted ways. You will never know a minute of happiness from that point on. And God forgive! if you refrigerate it! It will remain a permanent mass of oily goo incapable of reconstituting. (I speak from sad experience here, Brother.)

Solamente mi dos centavos.

Hmm, my favorite Crunchy PB currently is Smart Balance brand.  The oil does separate some (label says just stir it up) but it stirs back together easily.  So I'm okay with it, but I don't think it would do much good as far as firing pins and strikers go (unless it's lunch time).

I prefer creamy, as it is less painful to eat, and it can be used for lots of things.

As far as the pistol in question, as long as it is just tourist junk, Frankenstein it. It is is something unique, never.

Huzzah for the Spanish Gun Industry!

?Gazta?aga Destroyer ( or Destructor ) was  designed by Isidro Gazta?aga in Eibar, in 1913. It was produced in Gazta?aga y Compan?a, Eibar, Basque Country. It is a common Spanish handgun with the Eibar Type safety located above the grip. It was followed in production by a 7.65 mm version which was produced for the French army during World War I.The weapon is a copy of John Browning's 1906 pistols.?

Opinion 1: do whatever you need to make it go bang safely

Opinion B: the right organic peanut butter is fine, if one chooses carefully and selects the kind that ?does not separate? ... avoid brands with added sugar, as it makes the cats sick.

Opinion XXIIV: EVERYONE should respect the Do Not Call list, ESPECIALLY politicians and charities.

ABB-SO-LUTE-LEE ..... All Natural Peanut Butter.  The other stuff like Jiff (Icky) are full of wacko preservatives.  Yes, the Peanut Oil in the naturals will/does separate.  Just stir it back in.  Simple.  Also, NEVER .... EVER .... stick it inna refrigerator.

My preference are "Crazy Richards Natural or Smuckers Natural.  Two ingredients.  A little salt and Peanuts.  After you stir it up, store it with the lid down (upside down) inna Bread Box right next to the bread.

Oh, almost forgot.  Creamy.  Creamy is Bestest.  Also very good on Bananas.  Yum.

ADAMS peanut butter, smooth by preference. Stirring the oil back in is an age old tradition that doesn't bother me at all.

The drill bit solution sounds like what a gunsmith would do, except maybe silver soldering the piece in.

Smuckers all natural, either creamy of chunky, it stays in the fridge after the initial stirring, I never use it on un-toasted bread so it works for me.

Lehman's crank thingy looks neat.

Chevy, Dodge.....

...ford

And I preferred Mary Ann instead of Ginger.

Yes, I agree. Dogs ARE better than cats, and they're hilarious if you give them a dollop of peanut butter and watch.
