I did spend almost half of what I paid for my house this past weekend in Denver at the Colorado Collector's Gun Show. If you haven't been to one of these, you are missing the best show in America. Lots of older and interesting guns without a Glock or 6.5 Creedmoor in the lot of over 1300 tables. This is a Colt Burgess that was made and shipped in 1883...

Well, that's cool, and looks to be in great shape.  I guess I've only ever seen pics of originals showing the right side; didn't know there was a rampant Colt on the left!

Lived in Deven for several years.  Attended that Gun Show whenever it came to town.  Fabulous.  Attending that show gave me the inspiration for the '73, '66 and Henry Trappers I shoot. 

One particular year, one collector displayed an entire wall (block long) of nothing but Winchester rifles.  I drool'd so much I became dehydrated.

A couple months ago I looked at an original Burgess in a local gunshop.
The exterior was pretty close to the pictures here.
The lever was pretty loose and the bore was pretty rough.
Price was $2500.  I thought about it (a little) just because of the rarity, but decided to pass.
Anyone think $2500 seemed like a reasonable price?

Very cool, thanks for sharing the photos of the Colt Burgess rifle.  Love to find one that nice some day.  A carbine with saddle ring would be cool also.  Is there a trap door in the butt stock?  Cleaning rods?
